Testing and Exceptional Children Compliance Assistant
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Testing and EC Compliance Assistant provides assistance and support to the Director of Curriculum and Director of Exceptional Children to assure the effective and efficient operation of the district. The Testing Compliance Assistant serves to ensure compliance and success with all testing programs across the district. To accomplish these tasks the specialist must work closely with the staff and administration of the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of a two year degree in clerical/office management or five years experience. Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. Must possess strong organizational, problem solving, and computer application skills.
REPORTS TO:Director of EC
Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in submitting data for federal, state or local mandated reports as related to students and staff.
  • Attends workshops and professional conferences to continuously administer the improvement of testing programs as recommended by LEA TC.
  • Assists with monitoring and making recommendations to administration with any change to local test instruments or procedures.
  • Assists with organizing, maintaining, communicating and publishing testing data as needed or requested for the staff or public.
  • Respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Supports the Accountability Model for Testing
  • Assists in supporting the development of Professional Learning Communities (Data Analysis - Formative/Benchmark Assessment Data Results)
  • Assists in conducting Data Retreats
  • Assists in district-wide benchmarks, Schoolnet, and Case 21
  • Orders, precodes, and scans test
  • Packing, checking in and out of testing materials
  • Prints individual student reports and assists in maintaining security of testing materials and databases
  • Provide appropriate training to teachers in CECAS
  • Input new student demographic information into PowerSchool and CECAS
  • Exit students apprpriately when they leave the district in CECAS
  • Prepare CECAS reports
  • Update student files as needed
  • Request student records when exceptional students enroll in the district
  • Copy EC folders and mail to requesting schools
  • Communciate with other schools for ecords (in & out of district)
  • Communicate with state agencies regarding current and past students
  • Answer phone calls relating to EC, preschool, and other programs aligned under the EC Director
  • Set meetings and secure locations
  • Collect data for CIPP and NC SIP
  • Schedule related services for children and maintain a level of professionalism with our contracted providers
  • Prepare monthly bills and check requests as needed
  • Type memos and send e-mails at the request of the EC Director
  • Audit EC Folders
  • Collect paperwork after each IEP meeting and keep a file at the Central Service Building
  • Request and process student testing from SAT teams
  • Bill Medicaid through InfoHandler
Preschool
  • Monitor monthly meal count
  • Submit monthly attendance report for NC PreK
  • Collect an monitor time sheets
  • Update, copy distribute and collect Preschool applications
  • Submit applications to Head Start & NC PreK for review
  • Maintain a professional attitude when receiving phone calls relating to preschool
  • Observe preschool for review
Student Services
  • Schedule and Maintain district level training for ezRTi
  • Maintain and monitor program
  • Reset passwords for staff when needed
Other Functions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
