Author’s Portfolio Assignment #3 – A Self-Portrait

Due Date: Monday, November 21 (A)

Tuesday, November 22 (B)

Format: Heading, title, double-spaced, 12-pt Times New Roman font

For your author’s portfolio this month, you will explore your 7th grade identity in a one-page essay and with a creative fine arts representation.

Written Component: Think about how you would describe yourself to someone, or how someone would describe you. What do you look like? What is your personality? What are some of your weaknesses? What are some of your strengths? What are your interests, hobbies, habits (good and bad)? Do you belong to any clubs or organizations? Have you won any awards? How have you changed in the last year? What makes you YOU? Make sure to use detailed description in your writing.

Fine Arts Component: Choose a creative way to represent YOU in some form of a self-portrait. Some possible ideas are: create a collage, draw/paint a self-portrait, write a poem, etc. You are not limited to these ideas; be creative and check in with me if you come up with something clever. J
