SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 30, 2018

The Southern New Jersey Section of the AmericanSociety of Highway Engineers has established the Southern New Jersey Scholarship. Following ispertinent information and guidelines for eligibility.

1.The amount and number of scholarships will be partly based on the number of qualified applicants. The individual scholarship amounts will be at least $2000.

2.The Scholarship Committee will make this award by May 2018.

3.Eligible applicants must be Civil Engineering students successfully into their sophomore, junior or senior year of study (for the 2017-2018 school year).

The student must be a US citizen and reside in one of the following ten (10) counties in New Jersey:
Atlantic Burlington Cumberland Camden Cape May
Gloucester Mercer Monmouth Ocean Salem

4.Eligible students must be maintaining at least a 2.5 grade point average.

5.No scholarship will be awarded to any student who is presently receiving 70% or more tuition help from scholarships or financial aid.

6.Need, as well as scholastics, will be considered for this award.

7.The scholarship will only be awarded to an individual one time; however, students who are not awarded the scholarship may re-apply each year they are eligible.

8.Only one scholarship from ASHE New Jersey (either the South Jersey or North/Central Jersey) will be given per recipient.

CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT HEADRECOMMENDATION FORM

Instructions: Forward this separate Recommendation Form to your Civil Engineering Department Head for completion. The Recommendation Form is to be returned directly to ASHE SNJ by your Civil Engineering Department Head. This form must be returned by the application deadline. A student’s Technical Advisor may provide a recommendation if the Department Head also signs and agrees with the Advisor’s recommendation.
