Michigan in 200 Words

Introduction/Overview

Arts at Michigan is seeking student literary works for the As I See It Literary Competition! Tell us about your University of Michigan experience in 200 words or less. Looking for inspiration? Check out the UpstART 200 archive of historic or culturally significant work that is held by or related to U-M.

Submissions will be reviewed and juried between September 21-October 19, 2017. A winner will be selected and will receive a $200 gift card to Literati Bookstore! First and Second Runners Up will also receive prizes.

Eligibility

·  All students enrolled at the University of Michigan during the Fall 2017 semester are eligible.

·  Students do not need to be enrolled in the School of Art & Design or be studying writing.

·  Students may submit up to two works for consideration.

·  All materials must be received before 10pm on September 21, 2017.

Submission Process

·  All entries must be submitted via submission form (below) and emailed to . One completed entry form for each submission (see attached) labeled with name and number (i.e., georgewashington1form.doc or janeadams2form.doc).

·  If your work has specific formatting that needs to be preserved submit your work via PDF along with a submission form to . Please title the PDF with your full name and the number of the work if you are submitting multiple items (i.e., georgewashington1.pdf or janeadams2.pdf).

·  Limit two submissions per student.

Submissions missing any of the above information will not be considered by the judges.
