Public Comment:

Brad Eddy thinks the current Towing Policy was put into place to put his towing business out of business. Stated that he thinks there is favoritism given to Tim’s Towing by the Sheriff Department and E-911. He strongly objects to the current Towing Policy. Brad also stated that Tim’s Towing is not a legal towing company because his office is not zoned commercial. Also, Tim’s Towing wreckers do not all have the MPSC sticker and plates on all their trucks.

Rachel & Jordan Lutz also object to the current Towing Policy and thinks it is a racial favoritism issue.

Harry Jo Kocot Jr. of Sunrise Towing agrees with all the others and he too, objects to the current Towing Policy.

Tim Davis stated to the Board that he has flooding issues with the Bud Drain and suggests the Commissioners give the Drain Office more hours so that the Bud Drain can get cleaned out.

Cora Anderson – Stated that the issues she has been having with her rental home and landlords have not been resolved. She suggests that the Board form a committee to become a liaison between renters and landlords and inspect rental properties.

Steve Wuelfing, E911 Director, stated that the current Towing Policy was recommended by the County’s Liability Insurance Company, MMRMA. Other towing policies have been used in the past and none have made everybody happy. He also stated that most wrecker calls are by preference of the driver. The wrecker companies need to go to the appropriate agency and not E-911. E-911 is just a call center.

Dawn Hergott – Soil Conservation – Presented a slide show of the HAP Hunting Access Program. The program is offered to several counties. The grant is offered by the DNR. DNR leases private land, which would be 40 acres minimum. Pays approx. $20.00 acre. The season is September thru May. Oasis Lake is contemplating applying for this grant program.

Stephanie Olson – District Library – Gave the annual library report. Need to renew the 10 year library millage this year.

Discussed towing company issues for a few more minutes.

Building & Grounds –

There is a Tim’s Towing sign attached to the Animal Control sign on Foco Rd. that needs to be taken down.

More care needs to be taken with the Courthouse grounds. The lawn has been looking pretty nasty, lately. Luce will speak with Alex.

County Affairs –

Budget & Finance –

Public Comment –

Health & Public Safety –

Snyder stated that a new computer for Animal Control has been ordered because the current computer is ancient.

The new police car has arrived and it is a Dodge Charger. Has lettering installed, also.

Judicial/Legal –
