A Rhythmic Movement Training International (RMTi) Special Interest Class

RMT for School Readiness

Instructor: Mary Gazca, MA

Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT) supports overall development as well as helps to integrate infant reflexes, which normally should subside in toddler years. Retained infant reflexes may cause problems with balance or stability and create gaps in physical, mental, or emotional development, as these systems are believed to develop interdependently.

This training teaches the basics of Rhythmic Movement Training. It is geared for Early Childhood educators and parents of children with motor and emotional challenges, big or small. It consists of the option of a one-day or two-day class format:

Rhythm, Movement, and Play participants (1st day only) will learn to:

use 12+ Rhythmic Movements to boost development

RMT and School Readiness participants (both days) will also learn to:

Create games and activities using key innate movement patterns

Address 10+ infant reflexes, including ATNR and hand reflexes

Dates: March 24-25, 2018 (both class options)

Times: Saturday and Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm

Location: Minneapolis, MN TBD

Cost: First day only: $195 (Full) / $180

(Early registration by March 10, 2018)

Both days: $375 (Full)/$350 (Early registration by Mar 10, 2018)

Testimonials:June 15th, 2008

“Some of the very important gains which I have seen since using RMT are increased cognitive attention to task, increased learning ability, increased communication, increased visual focus, increased body awareness, decreased hyperactivity, and decreased physical and verbal aggression (such as head banging, meltdowns, physical aggression towards self or others). “

2012 RMT International Survey respondents report:

+ Improved motor development: balance (89%), coordination (92%) and to reduce muscle tension (95%)

+ Improved attention & focus (93%); reduce hyperactivity (88%) and impulsivity (82%)

+ Reduced sensitivities: stress response, anxiety (87%); touch (77%), motion (76%)

A parent reports:

“I love the movements because they are so simple, and so peaceful. My children enjoy doing RMT with me. I hope to see RMT spread to public schools and other places where there are so many hurting children.”

An educator comments:

“Every person benefits- most to a marked degree. Common improvements are: no longer incontinent (bed wetting); respond immediately when name spoken, improve eating, eat a wider range of food, no longer sleep problems, better moods, and engage in imaginative play. Marvelous.”
