Youth Support Workers (NCS)

£8.64 - £9.58per hour plus free accommodation during the two residential weeks.

Fixed Term Contracts – summer holidays and autumn and spring half terms.

Hertfordshire County Council Youth Connexions is delivering the National Citizen Service (NCS) during the summer (midJune- mid August), autumn and spring half terms.

NCS offers young people the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and attitudes to support them in engaging with their local community and volunteer in a social action project.

We require youth support workers to assist in the delivery of the programme, in particular the residential elements when you will be expected to reside at the venue. You will be working with a team of youth support workers lead by a trained Youth Worker or Youth Support Worker in Charge who will be responsible programme.

For the summer, we are interested in people who can commit to working the residential element of the programme – two consecutive weeks Monday to Friday when you will be expected to reside at the venue. There are also opportunities to work the subsequent two weeks (Monday to Friday daytime only). Whilst on the residential, meals and accommodation are free.

We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals with experience of working with young people or children. The role will involve supporting young people to develop personal and social skills enabling them to grow in confidence andgain resilience.
