Opening (Journal): / List each independence movement in order from earliest to most recent.
Work Period: /
  1. Students will turn in their Illustrated Story Board on one of the independence movements. They will also turn in any late/make-up work.
  2. As a class, we will discuss and go over the Open-Note Quiz from last Wednesday. This will serve as a review of key concepts covered in the history unit, and allow students to understand their mistakes.
  3. After going over the quiz, students will have 5 minutes to work with their seat buddy to check over the Apartheid Questions from the independent reading completed last week. Each pair will be in charge of explaining one question to the class. We will spend the remainder of class sharing and discussing these questions.

Closing / We will take a look at the website to find where the history quizlet is.
Homework / Study – History TEST is Thursday.

Work Period: / Students will receive a copy of the IN guided notes on South Sudan. They will take notes as we discuss the powerpoint presentation on the creation of South Sudan.
Students will also receive a copy ofIN p 47, a foldable with social, political, and economic flaps on it. They will glue the two pages into their interactive notebook.
Closing / Students may work on IN p 47 after we finish our guided notes for the day.
