APT-3 Practice drive

How it works:

The APT-3 Practice USB drive allows clients to run an APT programby themselvesin a clinic or at home. An APT program created on the clinician APT-3 drive can be transferred to a Practice drive by syncing the two USB drives. The client can then play the APT program from the Practice drive whenever they want. The client’s performance data will still be collected, and can be transferred back to the clinician’s APT-3 drive by re-syncing the two USB drives.

When a Practice drive is synced with an APT-3 drive, the Practice drive will only store the APT program and collect data for the client that it was synced with. After the Practice drive is re-synced with the APT-3 drive, all data is deleted from the Practice driveso that it will be ready for use with other clients.

Requirements:

Hardware and OS requirements are the same as with the APT-3 USB drive. In addition, you will need an APT-3 USB drive to sync with and a computer with 2 available USB ports. An internet connection will allow for additional features (explained below in Addition Information), but is not required.

Directions:

  1. Make sure your APT-3 software is up-to-date by starting and exiting the APT-3 Manager on a computer with internet connection.
  2. Plug both the APT-3 and APT-3 Practice USB drives into your computer.
  3. From the APT-3 Manager, choose the client that you will work with. From the Home Screen, click on “Sync with Practice Drive” to go to the Sync Screen.
  4. If there is performance data on the Practice drive for your client, the data will be transferred to the APT-3 drive automatically and then deleted from the Practice drive.
  5. If necessary, edit the client’s current APT program. Then click on “Transfer Practice APT Program” to transfer the APT program to the Practice drive.
  6. The Practice drive is now readyto run the client’s APT program.

Additional Information (for clinicians and clients that have internet access):

The APT-3 and Practice USB drives include an optional feature that allows clinicians to remotely update a Practice drive and receive performance data from a Practice drive without physically re-syncing the two USB drives.

  1. If the computer running the Practice drive has internet: The Practice software will check for updates to the client’s APT program from a secure server and upload performance data to the secure server.
  2. If the computer running the APT-3 drive has internet: When the clinician goes to the Sync Screen the software will download any new performance data from the secure server, and clicking “Transfer Practice APT Program” will update the client’s current APT program on the secure server.
