DIGITAL MARKETING ASSISTANT

As part of the marketing team you will be responsible for generating, editing and uploading dynamic and engaging content and imagery for the College website. You will work closely with the Digital Marketing Executive on the development and launch of the new College website including collating and creating content and liaising with staff, students and stakeholders. You will also update and maintain the College digital presence on other platforms including micro-sites and social media.

Major Tasks

Website

• Create, collate, edit and proof web content for new college website to ensure meets needs of target audiences and the strategic plan

• Assist Digital Marketing Executive in ensuring new college website is delivered on time and meets needs of audience and web project objectives

• Liaise with academic staff to ensure course content is up-to-date, accurate, consistent and meets needs of users

• Utilise content management system to ensure college website is up to date, accurate and engaging

• Update and maintain content across all digital platforms including micro-sites, social media and blogs

• Keep key content areas of the website fresh and dynamic by seeking out new copy, imagery, audio and video materials

• Work with design and communications team to create/commission multimedia content for use online including images, video and case studies

• Proactively seek out fresh and creative content for college website(s) and all digital platforms

• Schedule digital marketing activities via the website and social media channels

• Ensure all digital activities adhere to style guidelines

• Ensure all website content is accessible

• Respond promptly to inquiries from the web audience, either received directly from the website or as referrals from members of staff

• Liaise with stakeholders including curriculum, commercial and international staff and students to collate and develop digital content

• Carry out research including competitor analysis and focus groups to ensure website is utilising latest technologies and best practice to meet user needs

• Maintain a thorough awareness of developments and trends in digital marketing and communications both nationally and internationally and make recommendations as appropriate

• Provide training and support to website users to enable them to input and develop their content, including producing relevant documentation, tutorials and guidelines

• Ensure that the website retains all brand attributes while focusing on the strategic priorities

SEO

  • Assist the Digital Marketing Executive in optimising the website for search
  • Optimise on-site content and contribute to link-building work

Social Media

  • Support the development and delivery of social media projects including updating and monitoring social media, responding to queries and evaluating social media activity
  • Research and recommend social media best practices and technologies to meet needs of target audience and digital strategy

CRM/Email

• Support marketing team on email and digital marketing campaigns including providing reports

Digital Marketing Assistant

At least 1 year experience in a digital marketing/similar role

HND in marketing or related subject would be an advantage

Specific Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to write creative, concise, engaging copy for various digital audiences, including web and social media
  • Experience of using content management systems such as SharePoint and WordPress
  • Experience in SEO
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Comfortable working with a variety of digital tools, e.g. Mailchimp
  • Good eye for detail
  • Understanding of HTML, design, Adobe Creative Suite and W3C standards
  • Experience of analytical tools such as Google Analytics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on several projects simultaneously
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude and approach
