What to include on your completed application form (below):

  • Your personal details.
  • Your writing experience. (Maximum length: 1 page of A4.)
  • A personal statement. (Word limit: 500 words.)
  • A sample of writing from your completed manuscript. This can include short stories, an extract from a novel or collection of poetry or spoken word. (Word limit: 3,500 words for prose, up to 10 poems but no more than 10 pages or a link to a recording ofno more than 5 minutes.
  • Please also include a synopsis of your work. (Word limit: 500 words.)

How to format your application:

  • Font:Alltext should be font Arial, size 12, including your personal statement and your writing achievements.
  • Writing sample:Your writing sample and synopsis should be:

This writing sample must be from a completed manuscript. The successfulawardee will meet with an agent and receive a manuscript appraisal, so you must be in a position to do this when you apply.
