ALL APPLICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE KING KAMEHAMEHA

CELEBRATION COMMISSION AND ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

In consideration of permission to participate in the 2012 King Kamehameha Parade, the Applicant does hereby release and hold harmless the State of Hawai‘i, King Kamehameha Celebration Commission, and all other coordinating associations, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from and against all liability arising out of or resulting

from the acts or omissions of the Applicant and the Applicant's employees, officers, agents under this event. The Applicant recognizes that there are inherent risks associated with participation in this event and chooses to participate on its own free will.

This waiver must be accompanied by a signed permission slip for any participating minor. Parents and/or legal guardians must sign for all minors. Additionally, no children under the age of 12 are allowed to ride on any float or vehicle unless closely supervised by a responsible adult.

INFORMATION FOR KING KAMEHAMEHA PARADE PARTICIPANTS

Pa‘u & Private Mounted Unit Riders

Unit riders must: 1) Be an experienced rider; 2) Secure their own horse; 3) Be at least 18 years old; 4)Submit a recent photograph, which will not be returned; and 5) Submit a copy of your current photo ID as proof of age.

Float or Decorated Vehicles

Applicants for floats or decorated vehicles must submit: 1) A narrative describing the background of your organization; 2) A narrative describing your float or vehicle as it will correlate to the celebration theme; 3) A list of the names of the officers of your organization, entry designers and any other information that will be descriptive and helpful to the Commission; 4) Upon acceptance by the Commission, submit a copy of vehicle registration and proof of insurance.

Marching Bands, Drill Units, Flag Units, Walking Units

Applicants for marching bands, drill units, flag units or walking units must submit: 1) A narrative describing the background of your organization, school, club, etc.; and 2) A photo of the unit in the uniforms they will be using in this parade.

Cost to Participate in Parade

Pa‘u & Private Mounted Unit = No cost

Float = No Cost

Decorated Vehicle = No cost

Marching Band, Drill Unit, Flag Unit, or Walking Unit = No cost
