Sample Activities: Week 4, Day 3 – Lesson Seed
Shared Reading
Sing the song about the seasons“4 Seasons in a Year”. Reread interactive chart for shared reading. Reinforce foundational skills. Introduce vocabulary words: orchard, farmer, market. Introduce and read the selection Apple Farmer Annieby Monica Wellington. Describe how Annie experiences the apple harvest by retelling events of the story and her activities.
Interactive Read-Aloud:
Re-Read Apples for Everyone By Jill Esbaum. Now revisit both texts to identify how people enjoy apples. Create a picture word list. Review the different types of apples and then taste test a variety of apple products to determine individual preferences.

Have students state a favorite way of eating apples.
