2. According to the Assessment Plan for this program, what were the planned assessments to be conducted during the Fall 2007 semester? You may want to copy and paste from this program’s assessment plan.
Which outcomes for this program were measured? / How did you measure the outcomes? / What results did you expect? If the students performed well what would their performance look like, i.e. percentages, means, or comparisons to a national standard?__7__outcomes out of a total of __7__ outcomes evaluated this semester.
Student overall knowledge in 7 discipline subject areas within CLS / Reports from ASCP Board of Registry Exam Scores in each CLS discipline area / We expected students to see some improvement in chemistry scores vs national mean and against previous years with the hire of a faculty discipline expert.
3. Results. What are the results of the planned assessments listed above? Describe below or attach to the form.
ASCP BOR Summary Assessment for Spring 2007(exams taken September – December 2007)
Overall Program Performance
The following tables are summary statistics for
· FIRST TIME EXAMINEES from your program by subject area
· FIRST TIME EXAMINEES from the total population this cycle
· ALL EXAMINEES this cycle
The following provides mean scaled scores for your program's First Time examinees on the sub-content areas of the medical technologist examination. Scores in the high and low ranges should be interpreted with caution because they may be based on small numbers of questions and students. The scaled score of 400 can be used as a criterion for assessing overall performance of your program.
Examination Period September – December 2007 – reflects Fall teaching performance in 7 assessment categories in the CLS Program disciplines

4. Conclusions and Discoveries. What conclusions or discoveries were made from these results? Describe below or attach to the form.
Conclusions and DiscoveriesAll subject area scores were above the national program mean scores in this exam cycle except for Blood Bank. This is probably reflective of the individual students involved in this cycle rather than a reflection of the course itself.
5. Use of Results. What program changes are indicated? How will they be implemented? If none, describe why changes were not needed.
Student scores on registry exams along with other tools are used for overall program assessment - not just for a single semester. The semester assessment report is part of a larger process where the combined information is submitted in a Self-Study Assessment and submitted periodically to the NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences). Our last Self-Study and accreditation renewal was in 2003/2004.6. Dissemination of Results, Conclusions, and Discoveries. How and with whom were the results shared?
These results are shared with the accrediting agency NAACLS as well as our clinical training sites.
