“And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away. Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them. Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba.” (Gen.21:25,31,32). “If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (Jn.7:38,39). “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates: and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirit of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon” (Rev.16:12,13,14,16).
We see here hostility and violence over water in (Gen.21). There was strife between Abraham the Jew and Abimelech the Palestinian. A peace covenant was signed between them concerning a well of water called Beersheba – (The well of the oath), because they confirmed it with an oath. I believe these scriptures prophesy of these end days we are living in. The conflict over water in the Mideast between Israel and the Palestinians and the Arabs will finally end in the battle of Armageddon.The flashpoint for Armageddon is not oil, it’s not the temple mount, it’s water. There will be a false, temporary Middle East peace covenant signed by Israel and her neighboring Arab nations brokered and confirmed by the Antichrist (Dan.9:27). The covenant at Beersheba was a type of this. The President of the U.S. must be the Antichrist, as he is now brokering just such a peace treaty. Only he has the superpower status and power to accomplish it and only the U.S. fits the fulfillment of (Dan.2 and 7) as the last end time empire ruled by Antichrist. He will behailed as the (counterfeit) Prince of Peace.
But there are two wells of water in Beersheba in (Gen.21). The first Beersheba in the Bible is in (vs.14) and we find Hagar and Ishmael, Abraham’s son, being cast out after the birth of Isaac. The Arabs trace their lineage back to Ishmael. (Gal.4:28-31) tells us thatIshmael, born after the flesh, can’t be the heir and is cast out. Isaac is the heir because he is born of the spirit. “Nevertheless what sayeth the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman” – (Gal.4:31). The Arabs and the Palestinians hate the Jews because they have been cast out by God. This is what the violence in the Mideast is truly all about and it ends in Armageddon – the war over water. The Arabs want the inheritance of the promised land of Israel but God has given it to the godly Jews. God says there is no inheritance to those born only after the flesh, ye must be born again of the Holy Spirit. The promised land will be given to the godly Jews of the Old Testament and the born again Jews of the New Testament.
When Hagar and Ishmaelwandered in the wilderness of Beersheba, they ran out ofwaterand were about to die of thirst and God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water and they were saved. Thirsty Arabs and Gentiles can now be saved by Jesus Christ who is the well of living water for both Jew and Gentile. He is the true well of the oath who has the water of eternal life. O be saved by Jesus and you will not be cast out.“And him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” – (Jn.6:37).
Israel’s main threat is not oil but water. Water from the river Jordan and the Sea of Galilee has greened Israel’s deserts and helped Israelestablish herself as a modern nation in the strife – torn Mideast. For people of the Mideast, with an exploding population growth, water is most important because water is life – for everything. The Jordan River and its tributaries flow through Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, as well as Israel. Syria and Jordan are attempting to direct the tributaries and control of the source is most important. One of the Palestinian’s demands is for water to primarily serve Arab interests.
Because water is so scarce in Israel, the government requires a license to dig wells. The Palestinians in Israel are angry because they claim they can’t get the license to dig a well. So we see the prophetic aspects of the strife over water between Abraham and the Palestinians in (Gen.21) being fulfilled today. The final fulfillment will be the comprehensive peace covenant signed between Israel and the Arab nations around her in the near future – whichwill most certainly include water rights.
Water, not oil has become the likeliest cause of war in the Mideast. In (Rev.16:12) the true cause of Armageddon is plainly told us – it’s awar over water. The struggle for control of water today in the Mideast is growing more and more intense. The headwaters of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers start in Turkey and runs through Syria and Iraq. Turkey, which controls the flow through the other countries, say they have sovereignty over the water. Turkey is building 22 dams on the two rivers and the Ataturk Dam in the main one. These rivers are the keys to the water supply of the entire Mideast. You cannot live without thewater oflife. I see Armageddon being caused by the water shortage of theEuphrates being dried up when Turkey closes the dams. Armageddon is finally caused by the Mideast“Thirsting forwar.” Can you imagine how precious water will be when the rivers and fountains become blood and there is no rain for 1260 days?(Rev. 11:6 & 16:4). There is already a water crisis in much of the world.
An explosive crisis looms for millions of people intheMideast whose lives depend on the dwindling and increasingly polluted waters of the Euphrates, Tigris, Nile, and Jordan rivers. It’s a crisis that will trigger Armageddon in a region that is already the most volatile in the world. Beersheba, Israel (well of the oath) is only 20 miles from Dimona, the ‘heavy water’ plutonium – making H-bomb plant of Israel. Nothing grows in heavy water – it’s the‘water of death.’ O be saved today by the Lord Jesus. Receive the water of lifefreely. Because soon Armageddon and the water of death, the heavy water of H-bombs, will fall upon the world in a fiery holocaust. In the same part of the world where God created man and life began, it causes life to end. It is not happenstance that the father of the A-bomb was Oppenheimer and father of the H-bomb was Teller and the father of the Neutron bomb was Cohen. All three are Jews – the Jews invented the bomb. And Armageddon in Israel, the land of the Jews, causes the end of the world.
At Armageddon, the last emperor, the beast, like Napoleon, will meet his Waterloo. The beast foolishly fights against the Lord Jesus and His army from heaven. Jesus – the well of eternal life is victorious as Wellington was at Waterloo.
The Lord Jesus stopped at Jacob’s well and preached to a woman there. “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink: thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well ofwater springing up into everlasting life” – (Jn.4:10,14). Jesus said again in (Jn.7:38,39) “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Turn to Jesus by faith.“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells ofsalvation” – (Is.12:3).
Jesus is the living water that will give you eternal life. Be thirsty like the Samaritan woman and get saved. Wars start because of sin in the human heart – “From where come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?” – (Ja.4:1). You need to make peace with God and receive forgiveness of sins – your sins have made you the enemy of God. You need God’s peace offering sacrifice on the cross. “Thereforebeing justified by faith, we have peace with Godthrough our Lord Jesus Christ – (Rom.5:1). When you make peace with God through His mediator, His beloved Son, he will give you His living water in you – true living water – you will live forever. Life and immortality is found only in Christ. Don’t go to hell where you will beg for one drop of water to cool your tongue because you’re tormented in the flames – (Luke 16:24). Don’t go to the Lakeof Fire which is the second death. Don’t turn down eternal life in Christ – for He only has the living water.
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” – (Mt.5:6). All who truly thirst after righteousness will turn to Christ for salvation. Those that don’t want Christ, don’t want righteousness. Spiritual thirst is a great virtue. I preached in over 800 churches and I always spotted the ‘thirsty ones’ who drank up my preaching and even came up afterward and drank some more. It is written in (Ps.42:1,2) “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O god. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?” Does your heart pant after God? A kindred promise is (Is.44:3) “For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thy offspring.”
It is written in (Prov.25:25) “As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a farcountry.” Gospel means – ‘good news’ – the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. You can conquer death through Jesus Christ. You can have the water of eternal life. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal lifethrough Jesus Christ our Lord.” – (Rom.6:23).
I believe that the final gospel call is today being given by God’s preachers worldwide. (Rev.22:17) says – “And the spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Jesus said on the cross as he was dying of thirst – “I thirst.” And then the soldier pierced him with a spear – “And forthwith came there out blood and water” – (Jn.19:34). Whosoever is athirst may come to Him and be washed in His blood of all of their sins and receive the living water of the Holy Spirit. That’s the real war over water behind the scenes as the devil wars to keep you from it. O be saved by Jesus Christ today. The Mideast nations are in ‘hot water’ now and it will soon boil over into the heavy water of Armageddon and the hottest war ever on planet earth. In the same part of the world where God created man in the Garden of Eden, where the EuphratesRiver ran through and life began – life ends. And if the Lord Jesus didn’t come back quickly, all life would be extinguished. “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” – (Mt.24:22). We will have gone from Adam eating from the tree of knowledge to A Dam on the Euphrates and the knowledge of splitting the Atom and a nuclear Holocaust. The world’s water well is already starting to run dry. During the tribulation it taps out. There will be no rain for 1260 days while the two witnesses preach and the rivers and waters turn to blood. The earth becomes a tinderbox awaiting the fiery holocaust of Armageddon – (2 Pet.3:10).
Israel is finding new water sources for the future. A new desalination plant began operating just recently in Israel on the CarmelCoast that desalinates brinish well water and turns it into 628 million gallons of drinking water a year. But soon comes a flood of this life – giving liquid. A much larger desalination plant will start to process sea water by the end of 2005 and will add more than 26 billion gallons of pure water to Israel’s supply. Yes, the nations of the world will covet Israel’s water of life during the time of drought in the tribulation and will war to get it. God ended the world the first time in the days of Noah with water because of man’s wickedness and he will soon do it again with fire at his second coming – (2 Pet.3).
God hooks the two together by having his fiery Armageddon caused by a war over ‘lack’ of water.
This water plant by Mt. Carmel reminds me of Elijah, the water and fire preacher on Mt. Carmel turning Israel back to the Lord after praying for no rain for 3 ½ years. Israel’s wickedness stopped God’s precious, pure water of life to rain on them – (2 Chr.7:13,14). And now Elijah prayed that the Lord would send water to the parched land. “And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink: for there is a sound of abundance of rain” – (I Kings 18:41). And Elijah fled to Beersheba where God fed him with bread and water.
After the two witnesses stop the rain worldwide for 3 ½ years during the tribulation, then the Lord Jesus comes back and (Zack.14:8) will be fulfilled – “And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem: half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea; in summer and in winter shall it be.”He who is the water of life, will solve Israel’s water problem during the millennium. God’s holy land will be well watered, lush and green. And the source of this literal water will be the one who said – “And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of
life freely” – (Rev.22:17).
Take heed to this watchman’s trumpet of warning and turn from your wicked ways and deliver your soul. Repent of your sins, turn away from them and turn to Jesus Christ by faith for remission of sins. “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” – (Lu.24:47). Be thirsty – “And he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely” – (Rev.21:6). To both Jew and Gentile the Lord Jesus says “And to him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” – (Jn.6:37). Beer means well. When you get born again you’ll need no more beer to quench your thirst – your thirst has been quenched by Jesus, the water of life. Amen and Amen.
