Anatomy and Physiology Additional Systems Jigsaw

You are responsible for learning about these systems between this week and the two days after break! (So, don’t wait until the night before!!)

In class on Monday-Wednesday (4/25-4/27), you and the other class members who learned the sametopic will meet to compare notes and design a 12-minute summary that you will present to other members of the class who have become expert in different topics from this unit. You will have one class day to prepare and one night to pull this all together and share with me the presentation and the handouts you developed for homework.

Product:

(1) On Thursday 4/28, your group will present a brief and pithy presentation (5 slides, 7 minutesmaximum) that highlights the most fascinating or most important things you learnedabout your topic. Remember: the slide is a guide, not a script! Focus on graphics and a very few key words. Your presentation will fill in the details. Weird and wonderful scientific developments, diseases, genetic anomalies, historical notes, or mythology are great hooks. Think TED talks, and make this interesting!

(2) You will also give your fellow classmates a handout designed by your group to help them with the following pieces (minimum):

  • Key vocabulary
  • Diagrams
  • Major organs
  • Important biochemistry
  • Key interaction (such as feedback loops or interactions with the environment).

(3) Finally, each group will write one multiple-choice questionabout each of the seven topics discussed among you. Choose something from each topicthat you find particularly interesting, or particularly important. Make the questionsgood! I will choose some for a check-in quiz on the week after.
