Comedian

An extraordinary comedian, a talented improviser and a interactional genius, famous for his role as Uncle Bryn from the comedy drama Gavin and Stacey, as well as being the host of panel quiz shows Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive and Would I Lie To You?.Rob has burst onto the entertainment scene with huge success. He commands an audience and brings life to any event.

Born in Swansea South Wales, Rob studied at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, but left midway to become a radio presenter for BBC Wales. He moved to London to further his career and soon became one of the most sought after voice over artist for TV/Radio commercials, recording over 500 to date including: Tango, The Times, Abbey National, Sommerfield, Sudafed, McDonald’s, Cahoot, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and Andrex.

HE recently starred in Michael Winterbottom’s A Cock and Bull Story. His other films include Sean Connery’s First Knight (1995); the role of the brutalized traffic warden in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998); 24 Party People (2002) and more recently Mirror Mask.

Rob co-wrote and starred in the award winning Human Remains (BBC2) and Marion and Geoff, (BBC2); the second series was BAFTA nominated in 2004. Also, he appeared in Marion and Geoff special-A Small Summer Party (BBC2), ITV1’s Directors Commentary (BBC2), and recently The Keith Barret Show (BBC2). Rob starred in Kenneth Tynan: in Praise of Hardcore, played the lead in Murder in Mind on BBC1, and was seen in BBC1’s costume Drama The Way We Live Now and, Cruise of the Gods, BBC2. Rob is a regular guest on TV and Radio; The Oscars, 2004 (BBC1), Parkinson (BBC1), Friday Night with Jonathan Ross (BBC1), Ronnie Barker: A Bafta Tribute (BBC1), Top Gear (BBC2), Richard & Judy (CH4), This Morning (ITV1), Today with Des ‘n’ Mel (ITV1), Just a Minute (R4), Jonathan Ross (R2)and Steve Wright (R2).

In May 2005, The Keith Barret Show embarked on a 51-date-national tour. 2004 was a huge success for Rob’s live work. The Keith Barret Show, at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, sold out the entire 3 week run in advance, and The Daily Record hailed it as “The Funniest Show on the Fringe for the second year running. In 2003 he completed a sell-out nationwide tour of the Marion & Geoff Show.

He has most recently featured in shows such as Would I Lie to You?, The ONE Show and now hosts his own series The Rob Brydon Show. Rob's success has been nothing short of whirl-wind, and he seems to have hardly been off our screens in recent years. His next project is a largely improvised comedy show with Steve Coogan; The Trip.
