Testing Procedure & Ceremony

  1. Little Ninjas

This groups tests each week for a different skill set. As long as the student applies the proper effort and participation along with the 100% attendance. There should be no problem.

  • Focus: Red
  • Teamwork: Blue
  • Control: Green
  • Balance: Yellow
  • Control: Green
  • Memory: Orange
  • Discipline: White
  • Fitness: Black
  • Coordination: Brown
  1. Kids (7-10yrs), Juniors(11-13yrs), and Adults (14 &up)

a.)Students must know the required material on the guide outlines

b.)Adult tests are cumulative and must know opposite sides

c.)Kids groups (7-10yrs) are not required to know the forms until green belt

d.)Kids groups (7-10yrs) are not required to apply the presets on partners until brown belt

e.)The higher the level, the more you can expect.

f.)The older the student, the more you can expect.

  1. Preparing the supplies for the tests
  2. When students have earned al the necessary stripes, highlight their name on the attendance sheet and the Program Director will write in the color belt next to their name. The PD will then put that color and size belt on the next order.
  3. Print a certificate using the preprinted blanks.

Use Microsoft Power Point and open file “nametemplate3”

Type in the student’s name, belt promoted to(ex: Yellow Belt), month and year of promotion.*this is done according to the “AKKA monthly to dos” so they are done all at once

  1. Promotion Ceremony: performed at the end of class prior to bowing out
  2. Front line up: Promoting Instructor is in the center. Under black belt ranks are lined up by rank to the Promotion Instructors right. The black belts are lined up on the PI’s left. Highest ranks are closest to the center.
  3. The PI will start with the lower belts first.

“Promoted to the rank of “color belt” let’s hear a round of applause for “student’s name”. The student approaches the PI by going behind the students in his line exiting to the students left and around the group.

The PI will award the new belt then a courtesy bow, then the student will bow to each of the black belts in line and the black belts all bow back. When the bowing is completed, the PI will say “Let’s hear it for “student’s name”. The promoted student will go back in line exiting to his right, go around the group, behind his line and line up in his original spot. He/she then places the new belt in front of himself horizontally. Back in front position.

  1. After the class bows out, have the promoted students stay in line, have them kneel, remove their old ranks, fold it up, place the old rank vertically to their left, then have them put on their new ranks.
  2. Make sure they get their certificates from the Program Director before they leave.
  1. Outside of Class Tests: Brown an Black Belts only
  2. Dates are set at the 3rd Saturday in March and September.
  3. Test Format. Get copy of “test format” and follow the procedure
  4. In most cases, have the students perform their material opposite side to save time and to test skills.
  5. Black Belt Tests
  6. Get a copy of “black belt test format” and follow the procedure
  7. These tests are two times per year. Spring and Fall
  8. The duration will depend on the number of students testing. Typically 3 hrs.
