Objective:
For the Art Major program, you are required to complete an ambitious assignment, which is due before the art show. This assignment is equivalent to a final exam in other subjects and a significant amount of time and effort should be spent on creating this project. This is a project you make up. You develop your idea and your goals. I will help you locate the materials you need. Anything that I do not have, you may supply, so don’t be limited by the supplies in school. You will supply the ingenuity and thought. This assignment may use techniques you have learned in class, or something that you have heard about and would like to explore more. You will work on this at home, during your own time. This is your time to create something outside the box. This is your opportunity to impress! You can create a several (or more) pieces that relate to one another (series) or one large-scale piece. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO SPEND AT LEAST 20 HOURS ON THIS ASSIGNMENT!!! If you change your idea you are required to complete another proposal. If your ambitious and proposal are not the same, points will be docked from your project.
Topic Suggestions:
Fine Arts:Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage, mixed-media
Crafts:Ceramic, glass (stained or blown), mosaics, jewelry, fibers (weavings, etc)
Design:Computer generated images, fashion and accessory design and creation, interior design, architecture
Other:Comic book illustration, animation (traditional, computer, stop-motion), photography, etc.
