Congratulations on having a great softball season. Because of all of your success, you are invited to play in the senior all-star games. It is an honor which you must have worked very hard to achieve and you most certainly deserve.

On Wednesday, July 21, the Michigan High School Softball Coaches’ Association will be hosting their annual SENIOR ALL-STAR games at Rainey Field just westof MSUon Michigan Avenue.

Please accept this as YOUR OFFICIAL INVITATION, by the Coaches’ Association to be a representative form your school as a PARTICIPANT in the event. Please don’t be confused by any other information you may receive. Some athletes are invited to the games to receive awards only. YOU ARE INVITED TO PLAY!

All ball players and coaches will be staying at MichiganStateUniversity on Tuesday night as guests of the Coaches’ Association. Following is the agenda for the weekend

All athletes will play a minimum of four innings, except for pitchers. All games are scheduled to be eight innings in length.

Tell your coach that you have accepted the offer to play . Your coach has committed to find a way to pay the $90 fee, so please check with your coach to help them find sponsors to cover the fee.

After July 1 if there is any reason to withdraw we will still charge you for the fee, so a commitment is necessary. If for some reason you withdraw please contact the office at and the coach below who asked you to participate.

If you are unable to participate, please notify Tom Calnen, Betty Wrouble,Chris Belanger, Al Roberts, Gary Galla or Ken Brown immediately so a replacement can be selected. We hope you will be able to be with us for the event and we are looking forward so seeing you in Lansing on July 20.

WHAT TO BRING:

Personal items: glove, bat, spikes, batting helmet and a hat if you wear one. A uniform shirt, shorts, and socks will be provided when you check in. Bring an electric fan if the weather is hot, as the dorm rooms are not air conditioned. CATCHERS, BRING YOUR CATCHING EQUIPMENT.

The games will be played at Rainey Field on Michigan Avenue just west of the MSU campus. Players will be staying at Holden Hall on Wilson Road. Maps of the campus are available at the web site maps.msu.edu.

By June 25, we need all players to email the following information to the following address:

  1. A picture of the player suitable for inclusion in the program (for example, a senior headshot).
  2. A four sentence biography of the player’s softball accomplishments and where the player is attending school in the fall. For an example of an acceptable bio check out under All Star Game.
