1.4 DESIGN / PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

A. Wind Loads: Design and size components to withstand dead loads and live loads caused by positive and negative wind loads acting normal to plane of wall, including building corners.

1. Design Wind Load: As calculated in accordance with applicable code, as measured in accordance with ASTM E 330.

B. Deflection: Limit deflection to flexure limit of glass with full recovery of glazing materials.

1.5 SUBMITTALS

A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

1. Preparation instructions and recommendations.

2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.

3. Installation methods.

4. Operation and maintenance data.

C. Shop Drawings:

1. Include plans, elevations, sections, details, attachments to other construction, and accessories. Indicate dimensions, weights, conditions at openings and at storage areas, and required installation, storage, and operating clearances.

2. Indicate details of track and door connections, rail sections, fittings and hardware components.

3. Indicate glass type, sizes and details.

4. Indicate location and installation requirements for hardware and track including floor tolerances required and direction of travel. Indicate blocking to be provided by others.

5. Setting Drawings: Show imbedded items and cutouts required in other work, including support beam punching template.

D. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, representing actual product finishes. Show the full range of color and texture variations expected.

1. Aluminum extrusions: 6-inch (150 mm) long sections of rails and other items.

2. Glass: Sample nominally 12 inched by 12 inches (305 mm by 305 mm) of color and thickness desired showing exposed-edge finish.

E. Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.

F. Manufacturers warranties.

G. Contract Closeout: Submit

1. As-Built Record Documents showing actual installation conditions and wiring.

2. Manufacturer's Warranty.

3. Parts lists and maintenance instructions including data on operating hardware, lubrication requirements, and inspection procedures related to preventative maintenance.

1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Glass door manufacturer to have minimum five years documented experience in the fabrication of glass doors of the type required for this project and be capable of providing field service representation during installation.

B. Installer Qualifications: Experienced installer to have minimum five years documented experience in the work of this section and who has specialized in the installation of work similar to that required for this project.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

B. Protect materials from damage and exposure to moisture.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

B. Field Measurements: Verify opening dimensions of all-glass entrances by field measurements before fabrication and indicate the measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the Work.

1.9 WARRANTY

A. Provide written warranty signed by the fabricator of the glass doors and glass door systems agreeing to provide a two year warranty covering replacements of those doors that develop manufacturing defects defined as any defect materially obstructing vision through the glass, and any mechanical failure of hardware which prevents the proper operation of the doors and appropriate installation.

1.10 COORDINATION

A. Coordinate Work with other operations and installation of adjacent surfaces to avoid damage to installed materials.

B. Coordinate work with adjacent floor, wall, and ceiling construction to accommodate frame anchorage, panel track, and concealed hardware.

C. Coordinate work with concrete floors and floor finishes for adequate tolerances and clearances between door panels and floor finish.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 MANUFACTURERS

2.2 GLASS PRODUCTS

A. General:

1. Safety Glazing Standard: Provide fully tempered glass, Kind FT, compiling with ASTM C 1036 and ASTM C 1048 requirements, including glass indicated by reference to type, class, quality.

2. Sizes: Fabricate glass to size required for openings indicated, with edge clearances and tolerances complying with recommendations of glass and hardware manufacturer.

3. Provide glass types and thickness as indicated on the Drawings.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The following paragraphs include glass door and sidelight systems for DORMA Agile 150, Agile 150 Syncro, RS120 and RS40. This product is typically used in retails and commercial building as all glass doors and sidelight or room dividers. Select models required and delete if not required. If more than one type is required clearing indicate the location of each on the Drawings.

2.3 ALL GLASS SLIDING DOOR AND SIDELIGHT COMPONENTS

A. DORMA AGILE 150 Sliding Doors and Entrance:

1. Configuration:

2. Synchronized Operation: Provide double-paneled sliding door sets with a concealed cable and pulley return system to open and close as bi-parting doors when just one of the panels is operated.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** DORMA HSW System can be configured in several ways. Stacking arrangements can be combined with panels for single action or double action doors. Consult with DORMA and indicate the configuration system required on the Drawings. Indicate location of single and double acting doors required. If more than one configuration is required clearing indicate the location of each on the Drawings. Edit the following paragraphs to suit the configuration required.

2. Top and Bottom Rail: Anodized extruded aluminum top and bottom rails with arch shape with top and bottom pivots and hangers as required.
