Dairy Goats

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

All exhibitors must be registered with NZDGBA, Premier or Anglo Nubian of New Zealand

* All exhibits must be led and tied up.

* Does in milk must not be milked out before they are judged, (except in the second part of the best uddered class).

* Does will not be penalised if it is found necessary to ease their udders before or during judging owing to their udders becoming overstocked.

* Judging, all entries must be ready for judging by 10.00am

Standard minimum show Schedule for Herd register & associated records for Dairy goats.

All entries must comply with the Rules of the Royal Agricultural Society of NZ and the Rules and Regulations of the NZDGBA for exhibiting Dairy Goats.

Class 700 Herd Registered Doe in Milk under 3 years

Class 701 Herd Register Doe in Milk 3 years and under 5 years

Class 702 Herd Register Doe in milk 5 years and over

CHAMPION HERD REGISTERED DOE

To be selected from the first place getters

RESERVE CHAMPION HERD REGISTERED DOE

The second place getter in the class which the champion was selected to be paraded with the other first place getter for selection of the Reserve.

Class 703 Herd Register Grand Champion Doe

Open to any Doe which has obtained her Grand Champion status

CHAMPION CHALLENGE

To be selected from the winner of Class 703 and the Champion Doe.

NO award will be made if there is no competition.

BREED CERTIFICATES: Herd Register Does.

Class 704 Associated Record Doe in Milk under 3 years

Class 705 Associated Record Doe in Milk 3 years & under 5 years

Class 706 Associated Record Doe in Milk 5 years & over:

CHAMPION ASSOCIATED RECORD DOE:

To be selected from the first place getter in classes 704 - 706

RESERVE CHAMPION ASSOCIATED RECORD DOE

The second place getter in the class which the champion was selected to be paraded with the other first place getter for selection of the Reserve.

Class 707 Associated Record Grand Champion Doe:

Open to any Doe which has obtained her Grand Champion status

CHAMPION CHALLENGE:

To be selected from the winner of Class 707 and the Champion Doe.

NO award will be made if there is no competition

SPECIAL IN MILK CLASSES

All goats entered in this section must be entered in their standard age class.

Class 708 Senior Progeny: 2 Daughters in milk of same sire.

Two Daughters in milk of same sire but different Dams. Registration number and name of Sire and names of Dames to be given on entry form.

Class 709 Dam and Daughters.

Dam and one or more Daughters Judged on the Dams worth as a breeding Matron.

Class 710 Herd Register Type & Production 1:

Class 712 Herd Register Best Udder:

Open to all who have borne a kid. To be judged when full and again when stripped out. Points awarded for both full & empty udder, to be totalled to determine the place getters. Does maybe eased before judging and must be stripped prior to entering the ring for the empty udder judging.

Class 713 Associated Records Best Udder

Held in the same conditions as in class 712

Class 714 Junior Show Person:

For young persons of 15 years and under. To be judged on exhibitors ability to lead, place, turn, stop and start their goat. To answer two questions. Show preparation and appearance of exhibitor and goat taken into account. Exhibitors age to be included on entry form plus their grade, (bronze, silver, gold, advance).

Class 715 Junior Herdsperson

15 years up to 25 years showing an adult goat. To be judged on presentation and knowledge of the anatomy of the animal also the handling and health of the adult goat. Does not have to belong to the exhibitor.

Standard Age Classes for Junior Does

Class 716 Herd Register Maiden Doe or Goatling.

To be 12 months and under 30 months, that has never borne a kid, including maiden milkers and springing Does.

Class 717 Herd Register Maiden Doe Kid:

Born on or before the 31 August

Class 718 Herd Register Doe Kid:

Born after the 31 August

HERD REGISTER CHAMPION JUNIOR DOE

To be selected from the first place getters in classes 716, 717, 718

HERD REGISTER RESERVE CHAMPION JUNIOR DOE

The second place getter in the class from which the Champion was selected to be paraded with the other first place getter for the selection of reserve.

Class 719 Associate Record Maiden Doe or Goatling

To be 12 months and under 30 months that has never borne a kid, including maiden milkers and springing Does.

Class 720 Associate Record Doe Kid:

Born on or before 31 August

Class 721 Associate Record Doe Kid:

Born after the 31 August

ASSOCIATE RECORD CHAMPION JUNIOR DOE:

To be selected from the first place getters in classes 719, 720, 721.

ASSOCIATE RECORD RESERVE CHAMPION JUNIOR DOE:

The second place getter in the class from which the champion was selected to be paraded with the other first place getters for selection of the Reserve.

Junior Special Classes

Class 722 Junior Progeny

Two daughters under 30 months that have not borne a kid of the same Sire but different Dams. Registration number and name of Sire and names of Dams to be given on entry form.

Buck Classes

Class 723 Buck Kid:

Under 12 months

Class 724 Buckling:

12 months and under 2 years

12 months and under 2 years

Class 725 Buck:

2 years and over

CHAMPION BUCK:

To be selected from classes 724, 725.

RESERVE CHAMPION BUCK:

Class 726 Champion Herd Register Buck:

Open to any Buck which has obtained his Grand Champion status.
