Alfa Roadrunner Chapter Night Meeting Minutes 4/10/2017

Alfa Roadrunner meeting was called to order by Jim Godfrey at 6:48pm.

Barbara Leachman read the minutes from the Sheriffs dinner held on 4/5/2017.

Susan Prichard moved to approve the minutes and John Kurz seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.

Becky Godfrey gave the Treasurers report.

As of 3/31/2017: $5,554.73 – savings account

$12,195.06 – checking account

Total: $17,749.79

Additional more up to date figures will be published in the newsletter in May.

Becky also reported that we have 165 rigs in our chapter plus 3 new that signed up here at the rally. A brief discussion on how to reach and recruit new Alfa owners was had.

Unfinished/New Business

First:

John Kurz reported on the audit of the financial books. He said Becky has done and amazing job of organizing and documenting the books. Thanks were given to Becky for her time and service to the group.

Second:

Jim Godfrey announced to the members that they will be contacted and asked to vote on a recommendation of the AOC OC (oversight committee) concerning the admittance of NON-Alfa RV’s to the National AOC rally in the future. Jim Collard asked if this vote would be per rig or individual. The answer was per individual member.

Third:

Chris Mooney announced that members who attended the Pre Rally will be receiving a survey asking for their feedback and ideas on how to improve their rally experience. He also announced that some ideas are being considered for the possibility of a Midwest or eastern rally sometime late summer or early fall.

Fourth:

Mike Lynch announced that the BBQ luncheon/pot luck that was being planned for 4/11/17 was being cancelled due to the amount of meats needed and the lack of cooking surfaces.

Fifth:

Jim Godfrey thanked all the volunteers who donated their time the past week to make this rally a success.

Sixth:

Jim Godfrey announced the Quartzite Dates and Wagon Masters for 2018.

Dates: 1/19/2018 – 1/28/2018

Wagon Masters: Dwight and Sharon Tisdale

Co-Wagon Masters: Dale and Susan Prichard.

Seventh:

Richard Weber announced he has a free microwave to anyone who wants it in site 863.

Ray Fowler announced he still had some fire extinguishers available in site 803.

Eighth:

Jim Godfrey gave a brief update on Mac the Fire Guy and Brian and Carol Hoods daughter’s arrangements.

Ninth:

Jim Godfrey announced that 80 people had signed up for the Sky Med breakfast and only 30 showed up. He asked the members to be more considerate when committing to an event like this.

Tenth:

Becky Godfrey announced to the members that if they would like to stay at the park, they would have to deal with the office staff and that they should get up to 5 additional days at the AOC rate.

Eleventh:

2018 Dates rally dates will be:

Pre-rallies: April 5 – 9, 2018

AOC: April 10 – 16, 2018

Twelfth:

Thanks were given to Jim and Becky Godfrey, Chris Mooney and Barbara Leachman for their work on making this a fun and successful rally.

Laurie Weeder gave thanks to everyone who invited her back to participate in dinners and socializing.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 and a rousing game of Left Right Center was had afterward with 24 people participating.
