WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 17, 2015 – Governor Robert Bentley has appointed Mrs. Tijuanna Adetunji of Montgomery and re-appointed veteran Gadsden broadcaster J. Holland to the Alabama Educational Television Commission (AETC) representing the 2nd and 4th congressional districts.

The seven-member AETC is charged with overseeing Alabama’s public television service to Alabama residents and ensuring compliance with the licensee requirements of the Federal Communications Commission. The commissioners also serve concurrently on the board of the Alabama Educational Television Foundation Authority, a non-profit public corporation responsible for soliciting and managing grants for the benefit of APT and overseeing the corporation’s endowments and investments.

Tijuanna is a native Alabamian and resides in Montgomery. She is the owner of TAG Insurance, a provider of group and individual insurance products under The Adetunji Group, LLC. She is a former ambassador for the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership Montgomery Class Thirty. She is a volunteer mentor at Hope Inspired Ministries and serves on the board of Women In Ministry International. Tijuanna is a Veteran of the United States Army Reserve, where she served with the 1207th Medical Unit during Operation Desert Storm at Ft. Benning, GA. She is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She is married to Frederick Adetunji who serves as the 2nd presiding Bishop of Fresh Anointing House of Worship and its Fellowship Churches in the United States and West Africa where she also leads life outreach. They have worked together in ministry and in missions for seventeen years. They have four children and one grandchild.

J. Holland, who was originally appointed to the AETC in 2012 to fill the term of the late Charles Boman, serves as secretary/treasurer of the Commission. Holland has worked in Alabama radio since 1975 and this year won the Alabama Broadcasters Association award for small market radio reporter. Holland is the president and owner of J. Holland Communications, an advertising, public relations and marketing company in business since 1992. He is the primary voice talent for EWTN, the Global Catholic Network in Birmingham, Alabama. Holland is active in the Gadsden community, serving as vice-chairman on the board of the local Salvation Army, as a member the Gadsden/Etowah Patriots Association, and as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gadsden. A graduate of Jacksonville State University, he also serves on the Board of Advisors for Jacksonville State’s WLJS-FM. Holland and his wife of 37 years, Marcia Cromer Holland of Alex City, have three children and eight grandchildren.
