Honors College Summer Enrichment Grant

The Honors College Summer Enrichment grant provides an opportunity forhonors students to pursue intellectually engaging activities during the summer. The types of activities that are eligible for funding include personal expenses related to study abroad, research, internships, and community impact projects. These grants do not cover tuition, course work or the materials costs associated with research, nor do they provide stipends for work performed. They can be used to cover housing, travel to study abroad or internship sites, food and other living expenses.

Grant awards will range from $500 - $1000. The amount of funding will be based on the number of proposals we receive and on the strength of each proposal in terms of connecting summer plans to long-term goals. We expect you to pursue all available options for summer funding (e.g., SURF, NSF, CIE scholarships). In other words, do not rely on the summer enrichment grants as your primary source of funding.

To be eligible to apply, students must be in good standing in the Honors College (i.e., making progress toward honors requirements and for freshmen at least a 3.0 GPA, for sophomores at least a 3.2, and for juniors and seniors at least a 3.4).

Recipients will be required to do a presentation during the 2018-2019 Academic Year. These presentations could be for prospective students, current students or Honors College Advisory Board. These presentations should describe the project funded by the summer enrichment grant and the ways that the experience contributed to progress towards long-term goals.
