APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT COACHES (User-pay) TO

AUSTRALIA WOMEN’S YOUTH BOXING TEAM

The Board of Boxing Australia Limited (BAL) is seeking applications for up to 3 self/state funded positions of Assistant Coach of the Australian Women’s Youth Boxing Team for the 2017AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships Event to be held in Guwahati, India from 19th to 25th Nov, 2017.

Applications must be submitted by Friday 8th September at 5pm (AEST).

Potential applicants should provide as much detail regarding their coaching, management and boxing experiencewhen addressing and filling in the nomination form.

SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Currently holds (i) a Level 1 Coaching Accreditation with Boxing Australia under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme and (ii) accreditation by AIBA as a Star Coach (iii) working with vulnerable people registration, or state/territory equivalent

2. Recent (last 2 years) Coaching Experience with a BAL National Boxing Team or a BAL National Boxing Program (BAL/State Development camps)

3. Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge, skills, experience and knowledge of relevant regulations, including:

AIBA Competition & Technical Rules

AIBA Scoring System

4. Commitment to the following international travel:

17th to 27th November: AOB Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships

5. Demonstrate the following personal and organisational skills:

Understanding of training programs and athlete monitoring

Good communication withathletes, coaches

Organisation and debriefing of medical support staff

Influence and monitoring of athlete behaviour, and

Report writing

6. IT & computer skills

Ability to use Microsoft Outlook or other email applications

Ability to use web browsers; and

Ability to operate a video camera

7. People management skills including

Preparation for and participation in athlete and coach meetings

Good anticipation of problems

Good decision making

Good consultation

Good communication; and

Good coping skills

8. Good coaching skills including

Professional approach to leading training sessions

Ability to follow direction of Team Head Coach

9. Professionalism

Exemplary appearance, attitude and behaviour including respectful use of social media

10. Suitability

Advocate of and conformity to BAL promoted best practices

Support of policies and direction of BAL
