The CEO, in partnership with the Board of Trustees, is responsible for the success of Age UK Hertfordshire (AUKH), an independent charitable organisation, and an integral part of Age UK. Together, the Board and CEO assures the relevance of AUKH to the local community, in particular its aged population; the furtherance of its vision and values; the achievement of its mission; and its accountability to stakeholders, particularly its strategic partners, including Hertfordshire County Council, Clinical Commissioning Groups and the National Lottery.

The Board delegates to the CEO responsibility for management and day to day operations of the organisation; and s/he has the authority to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the direction, policies and strategies established by the Board. The CEO has overall responsibility for implementing the organisation’s business plan, for overseeing the budget and workforce, and for ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
