PURPOSE OF THE JOB
1.  Opening Doors London (ODL) are recruiting a worker to support work with older lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* (LGBT*) people in and around the London borough of Camden as part of the LGBT* Connect contract.
2.  To set up and manage social opportunities and improve access to services for older lesbian, gay or bisexual and trans* people (50+) in and around Camden, with the support of Opening Doors Development Co-ordinator, volunteers and members of the older LGBT* community.
3.  Establish contact with potential service users, including those who are isolated or housebound and consult with them to investigate their needs.
4.  To lead on the completion and submission of all monitoring and associated reports for the whole project.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements specific to this job:
1.  Work with the Development Coordinator and key delivery partners to ensure that the necessary monitoring and evaluation paperwork is collected from service users and the is data inputted onto the Opening Doors London database in a timely manner.
2.  Set up and be responsible for management of social groups for and with older LGBT* people in and around Camden, including organising activities, venues & refreshments for and with members when necessary.
3.  Ensure all administrative tasks and financial arrangements including petty cash payments associated with planned sessions are completed in line with Opening Doors London financial policies and procedures and other requirements.
4.  Liaise with Development Co-ordinators and other members of the Opening Doors London team regarding wellbeing of members.
5.  Manage volunteers to ensure their active involvement in the project
6.  Preparation and submission of monitoring information for all activities as required.
7.  Organise and co-ordinate special events promoting services available to older LGBT* communities.
8.  Advertise and promote the existence of the group in a variety of innovative ways.
General requirements:
1.  To attend regular supervision with the Development co-ordinator.
2.  Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated guidance, it is the duty of all staff while at work to take adequate care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
3.  Opening Doors London operates a No Smoking policy and all staff are required to comply with this.

6.  All staff may be asked to undertake other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade, as determined by their Line Manager, on an occasional basis.
