ü  What are rooms

ü  What goes in rooms?

ü  Clients frequently want to see graphically how there spaces are being used.

ü  Clients sometimes need a simpler view of the building….very little if no annotation.

ü  Where do Interior Designers keep track of what materials are in a room in a Revit model?

Instructional Component: (include type of lesson and major concepts to be covered)

ü  Demonstrate how to create Rooms

ü  Demonstrate how to Tag rooms…discuss smart tags and “annotations”

ü  Show parameters in rooms

ü  Demonstrate how to create separator lines

ü  Demonstrate how to duplicate a plan view and why

ü  Demonstrate how to use graphic overrides to shade walls and turn off annotation

ü  Demonstrate how to add data to rooms

ü  Demonstrate how to create a color scheme legend

ü  Show duplicate rooms, lost rooms, and stretching rooms vertically

Check for Understanding or Guided Practice:

ü  Students will create rooms and develop a presentation plan. Teacher will walk the classroom to ensure students have created the presentation plan.

Independent Practice:

ü  Students will create rooms

ü  Students will create a presentation plan with proper graphics

ü  Students will add data to the rooms by using both the properties box and the schedule.

ü  Students will delete “ghost rooms” no longer in use by creating a room schedule

Closure:

ü  Time saved by leveraging information in the Revit Model.

ü  Room data is really valuable information to Architects

ü  Presentation plans used a lot in brochures as well as cost analysis/room use.

Materials Used:

Revit Tutorial book, Revit software, classroom control software or overhead projector.
