[i]If event is being organised by a partner organisation rather than a pathway please provide information on your organisation and what discussions have taken place with the Directorate and Pathways regarding planning this event.
[ii]All Scottish doctoral or 1+3 students are included in this definition. Masters level students can attend events as a minority where this has a clear benefit to them and the institution/pathway proposing the event but training events must be specifically designed for students in the 2nd year of their PhD or above.
[iii]The SGS-DTC has been provided with a bursary from the ESRC to support us to ‘open-up’ AT events to students outside of Scotland by reimbursing event organisers for such students who attend. This can be used for all events, not only those we post on to the NCRM portal. For students who attend SGS-DTC events from outside of Scotland (students from other ESRC DTCs or from UK institutions that are not in an ESRC DTC) up to £100 per student, per day can be drawn down from this bursary to support the event (i.e. if the event costs £50 per day based on room hire, speaker costs, catering etc then the bursary can be drawn down by £50 per student, per day). This bursary cannot reimburse students’ travel or accommodation costs. Please note that this fund is separately accounted for so we need to know exact numbers of external students to draw this money down and reimburse organisers.
[iv]This information and anticipated student numbers will be used by the SGS-DTC Office who will set up an Eventbrite page for each successfully funded AT event to manage registration and monitor data on attendees. This is not optional.
[v]There are additional funds available for this and we are available to discuss ideas that you might have. Event organisers will also have the final online learning products available to them for future use.
