Advanced Filing (24 hr +)using JetPlan.com (JPDC)

The following instructions are for computing and filing flight plans for departure times greater than 24 hours in the future using JPDC.

1) JetPlan Customer Preferences:

Required:

EDDUSER: This preference enables specifying the Estimated Date of Departure (EDD) for a flight plan. If EDDUSER is not set for your id/password, and you would like to be able to specify EDD, contact your customer service representative at 800-358-6468 x5.

Optional:

ATCLEAD: This can be used to specify as a default the number of hours prior to ETD that JetPlan will submit a Filing Request to ATC. If you would like to set ATCLEAD for your id/password, contact your customer service representative at 800-358-6468 x5.

2) To specify the Estimated Date of Departure (EDD) when the plan is run

Using the Flight Planning Applet:

1 - Select Advanced Features and then select GO next to the Winds & Temps/Date of Flight tab.

2 - Select fixed winds or historical weather (historical winds or statistical winds) if your date of flight is beyond the time range of the latest NWS or UKMO model run.

3 - Select Month, Day and Year of flight. This defines the EDD.

4 – Select other Applet pages to continue with flight plan inputs including ETD

5 - Select Generate Flight Plan to compute plan.

Using the html Flight Planning Form

On question 1: Specify the winds or historical weather if your date of flight is beyond the range of the latest NWS or UKMO model run.

On question 8: Specify the EDD. EDD is specified by “appending” the ETD with the EDD command using the following syntax: hhmm/EDD,ddMONyy

where hhmm are hours and minutes in Zulu time, EDD is the Estimated Date of Departure command, dd is the day of the month, MON is the three letter month identifier and yy is the two digit year. For example: 08 ETD 0200/EDD,22MAR06 will run a plan for 0200 Z departure on March 22, 2006.

3) Filing the flight plan

1 – For the flight plan that you want to file, select ATC filing from the drop down menu presented in the DispatchCenter or the Flight Plan output page.

2 - At the bottom of the filing form, select Lead Time and enter a value using the syntax hhmm. This value should be within the range of 0100-1800 hours. A blank input will default to 0500 hours for ICAO, 0300 hours for U.S. domestic or to your ATCLEAD value.

3 – Select File Plan #### after making sure that all required fields have entries. The flight plan will be queued until hh hours and mm minutes before the flight plan’s ETD/EDD.

For example, the entry in the lower right corner of this filing request form will cause the flight plan to be submitted for filing 12 hours in advance of the EDD/ETD.

4) Filing Summary

For the flight plan that you want a filing summary for, select ATC Summary from the drop down menu presented in the DispatchCenter or the Flight Plan output page. You will be presented with a summary page such as shown below.
