Administration Update

We had an awesome turn out for our Open House in September as well as a very successful Cookie Dough Sale!

The dates and times for Teacher-Parent conferences have been set. You will receive your child’s user name and password for some educational websites at this conference.

Accelerated Reader goals have been set for each student. The reward for the first nine weeks will be Kona Ice. The student’s goal must be met by October 15th. Please support your child in achieving his/her AR goal! Read! Read! Read! Each and every night!

Reminder: We will offer Volunteer Orientation on October 1st during the times of 9:15-9:45 in the Media Center. Oval Art Volunteer Training will be on October 1st during the times of 9:45-10:30 in the Media Center. Please assist us in providing art to our students!

Limo ride!!

If your child sold 12 items OR siblings sold 17 total items, you should have received a permission slip for the limo ride. If you have not, please notify the office at 844-4381 by Wednesday, September 30th, at noon. The limo ride will be Friday, October 2nd!

Kindergarten field trips

Kindergarten will be going on a field trip to the Mary Esther Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch.

new Deputy in town

Florosa Elementary is excited to welcome our new SRO, Deputy Will Foster. Deputy Will has been a Deputy in the Sheriff’s department for the past ten years. Before that he was a military medic for twenty years. He is enjoying getting to know the students and they are enjoying getting to know him.

Box tops for education

Parents and Students, please remember to bring in your box tops! Each coupon is worth $0.10 each! This adds up quickly when all students bring their box tops to their teacher. We have been very successful in the past years with this project. The money raised is spent on school wide projects.

Cici’s pizza night for florosa elementary

The fifth grade fundraiser for the school is CiCi’s Pizza Night. This begins on October 13th and will continue each second Tuesday of the month. Florosa Elementary will receive 10% of the sales purchased by Florosa Elementary families during the hours of 5:00-8:00 p.m. Teachers will be present at CiCi’s for you to give your receipt to them. CiCi’s Pizza is located in Sun Plaza near Publix.

Parents: Please complete the Free & Reduced Lunch Forms if applicable. You can apply on the OCSD site by clicking on the “Apply for Lunch” app. Once the form is complete, it will be automatically applied to your child’s account. If you prefer pen & paper, you may get a form from the front office. This will take 5-7 days to clear and be applied to your child’s account.

Esol

In compliance with Section 101.42 Florida Statutes, the following teachers are out of field because they do not have an ESOL endorsement with an ESOL student enrolled in their classroom. They are however, in compliance since they are attending courses to get their endorsement. The teachers include Ms. Antonia Baldwin, Ms. Lora Howell, and Ms. Veronica Winters.
