Overview
This document outlines the supported platforms and software for the Child Care Benefit (CCB) Approval Online Application Form. This includes the IT testing results for various combinations of internet browser and Adobe document reader software for the Windows7 and Apple Mac computer operating systems. Due to difficulties experienced by some users in accessing Portable Document Format (PDF) documents, applicants applying for CCB approval are advised against using a computer with Windows10 operating system until further notice. Also, Google Chrome and Adobe Acrobat are no longer compatible and cannot be used to submit the online application form.
Minimum Access Requirements
Applicants must have Adobe Reader Version 8.1 or later to use the electronic Application Form. A suitable version of Adobe Reader can be downloaded for free from theAdobe website.
Using other PDF Reader software other than Adobe Reader (e.g. Foxit Reader, Evince, PDF-XChange, eXPert, etc) may cause the electronic PDF Application Form to not function correctly.
Who to contact for assistance
If you are experiencing any technical difficulties displaying or using the CCB Approval Online Application Form, please contact your State or Territory Office on 1300363079 or email
Printing the electronic PDF form
Online application forms should not be completed, printed and submitted as important information may not appear on the printed version of the electronic application form. This may result in the application not being able to be assessed.
Recommendations for Windows 7 Users
For the Windows7 Operating System, it is recommended that Adobe Reader11 be used in combination with any of the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer10
- Opera Version12
Google Chrome can no longer be used with this operating system (see explanation below). It is recommended that Firefox version37 and Internet Explorer9 not be used with this operating system. Table1 provides an overview of the Windows7 testing results, which excludes Internet Explorer version11 because it was not included as part of this testing. Recommendations for Windows 8 Users
Some Windows8 users may experience issues saving and submitting the application form. If this occurs please contact your local state or territory office for further assistance (refer details above). You may wish to consider internet browser and document reader combinations that were endorsed for Windows7 users. If you use Version11 of Adobe Reader, you may also be able to submit the application form with Internet Explorer Version11 as your internet browser.
Recommendations for Windows 10 Users
It has been identified through IT testing that the Adobe Reader programme does not currently work with dynamic forms such as the CCB Approval Online Application Form in the Windows10 environment. Therefore, this combination of platform and software is not currently supported until a fix is administered to this platform by Adobe.
Recommendations for Apple Mac Users
For the Apple Mac Operating System, it is recommended that the following browsers be used to download, save and complete the CCB Approval Online Application Form.
- Opera Version32
- Safari Version7
Applicants will not be able to submit their application using an Apple Mac Computer. Table2 provides an overview of the Apple Mac testing results.
