Investment Advisor Associate

About the Job

We are looking to hire an investment advisor associate to help service our existing clients, and potentially bring in new clients and assets. A professional person who is well organized, takes initiative, is detail-oriented, and a desire to grow in responsibilities, duties and client accounts. We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, self-directed, outgoing, team-oriented, and provides excellent customer service.

Job Requirements/Skills:

  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients and various business contacts in a courteous, nice, friendly, outgoing, and professional manner. Must be a team player, and have good customer service oriented skills and personality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to investigate and research situations.
  • Is proactive, takes initiative, learns quickly. Pattern of achievement and success.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • College degree, preferably in business, accounting, or finance.
  • Excellent at doing/learning analysis on funds, portfolios, clients, prospects, financial planning, client preparations, client final presentations, investment policy statements, 401K analysis and recommendations, investment policy drift analysis, trading, etc.
  • Networking, looking for ways to get more assets from existing clients, referrals, adding people to our investment letter list. Proactively contacts clients and prospects, and reacts independently and professionally to client requests and needs. Focused on delivering great customer service.
  • Has a passion for the business, investments, and our philosophy. Understands what we do.
  • Outgoing personality. Friendly. Networked.
  • Ability to handle 20-60 client (family) relationships simultaneously as the backup advisor.

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Responsible for 20-60 client family relationships as the backup advisor.
  • Research and respond to general or specific customer inquiries.
  • Communicate with clients in a manner that will maintain good customer relations and provide excellent customer service. Take advantage of every possible excuse to contact a client. Proactive and regular client communication.
  • Get to know your clients well. Develop deep relationships with clients. Make your clients your friends. Enjoy helping people and communicating with people.
  • Learn and use our technology systems (Portfolio Center, Junxure CRM, Morningstar, Custodian websites, financial planning software, etc.)
  • Learn our investment strategy and style, and be able to describe it well to clients and prospects.
  • Do financial planning for clients. Help them build a plan to confidently reach their goals.
  • Manage your client portfolios using our investment strategy and style, and manage them to keep the client portfolios consistent with their investment policy statement (IPS) guidelines.
  • Keep track of your client communications using our client service model.
  • Be a team player. Help others on the team when needed.
  • Help out by working on our existing 401K plans, and become a knowledgeable 401K plan advisor.
  • Network and serve your clients well so you are able to bring additional clients and assets to our firm through referrals, etc.

Compensation

The compensation will be competitive and match the job description and the candidate’s skills and experience. We expect the pay to be between $50,000 and $65,000 depending on experience.
