Description:

Students will research and answer questions about post-secondary schools that offer an Agricultural Education degree using the assignment sheet. The student must find the school nearest to them geographically and one other of their choice.

Time:

  • 2 (45 minute) class periods.

Anticipated AgEd Outcome:

  • Awareness of geographically close Ag Education degree offering schools
  • Understanding of other schools that offer the degree
  • Basic knowledge that an Ag Education degree is easily accessible given the variety of schools with an Ag Education program.

  • Find one school anywhere else in the United States of your choosing that offers an Ag Education Degree.

  2. Website address for the Ag Education department
  3. Location (City and State)
  4. Go to MapQuest and determine the mileage from your house to each school.
  5. Number of Credits needed to graduate with an Ag Education degree.
  6. List 10 required classes and 5 electives in the Ag Education degree program.
  7. How many Ag Education faculty are on staff?
  8. Does the school offer a Master’s Degree in Ag Education too? A PhD?
  9. Number of students currently enrolled in the program. You may have to email the department to find this number.
  10. Placement rate of graduates from the program into Ag Education careers. Again, you may have to contact the department directly.
  11. 3 other facts from the College/Universities website about the Ag Education program.
