Activity Days By Jordi & Ryan
On the first day we did canoeing on the River Tyne, it was one of the best activities but also one of the scariest. We also took part in water dipping, it was really fun and some people caught fish. The next day we went to the Loch Centre in Tranent. We enjoyed doing art and games. After lunch we went to Musselburgh’s bike trail and some of us went to the lagoon, it was fun. Finally we did rock climbing with Anthony. We had a great time and we made lots of new friends with children at Elphinstone.
Amy and Amber went on a camp with Elphinstone to Manor Adventure – here’s what they got up to:
Our Manor Adventure by Amy and Amber
At Manor Adventure our days were jam packed with lots of amazing activities from blind trail to high ropes, all of them were amazing fun and really enjoyable. The activities would not have been as fun or safe without the amazing instructors, they were all really kind and funny. After every activity we were all starving and there was a wide variety of very yummy food. It was also nice to meet new friends who made us feel really welcome. This year we stayed in wooden pods and had a whole pod village to ourselves! The beds were so comfy and the facilities were great.
P5-7 composition
We have some budding composers in our midst! For three half days in June the children in P5-7 took part in an inspirational song writing workshop. They are looking forward to performing their composition at our end of year assembly, you are in for a real treat. We hope many of you will be able to attend and celebrate their achievements. The assembly will take place on Thursday 2ndJuly. After the assembly, which will take place at Fletcher Hall, you are all invited back to school for coffee and cake and a chance to look through your child’s books and profiles before we break up. Please note this is an informal drop-in, not a parents consultation but we thought it a nice way for you to round off the year.
Woodland Activities
Over the last few weeks children from our nursery and our P1/2 class have been enjoying visiting Strawberry Woods with our ranger Richard English. The children have been looking at mini-beast habitats in particular as part of their project work. The nursery children enjoyed a camp fire with melted marshmallows on their final visit and made fantastic dens. Below are a few photographs:
