The Bronfman Youth Fellowship in Israel – July 1st -August 6th, 2008
This summer program is a fully endowed fellowship that is among the most prestigious programs available to outstanding Jewish students of all backgrounds who are in their junior year of high school. The program consists of a summer of study in Israel, followed by seminars and other alumni activities in North America. The Fellowships are awarded competitively to twenty-six individuals who will be entering the twelfth grade of school in the fall of 2008. The City of Raleigh's Community Services Department is again sponsoring the Raleigh Summer Youth Employment Program. 160 jobs will be available and selected employees will work between 20-35 hours per week. High School STEP-UP Program SOPHOMORES: from racial and ethnic minority or disadvantaged backgrounds are eligible to participate in the High School STEP-UP Program funded by the National Institutes of Health and sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. For 8 to 10 weeks, students will work in a research lab on an individualized project that can be completed within a full-time 8-10 week time frame and will be paid $1800 + all expenses will be paid for them to travel to NIH at the end of the summer to present their research.
