A1. Lack of consistent discipline was reported to be a cause, according to survey results.
A2. Lack of a policy to address parent conferences, phone calls, notes home, and postcard usage.
A3. Lack of policy and procedures regarding work sample collection is the major cause. / A1. During the 2007-2009 school years, as a community of learners, we will fully implement the CHAMPS curriculum.
A2. During the 2007-2009 school years, an SBDM policy on parent communication will be implemented to address when, how, and what is expected with family communications.
A3. During the 2007-2009 school years, student work samples will be collected, reviewed, and transferred to the receiving teacher.

According to our committee interviews, there is a need for multiple assessments that are specifically designed to provide meaningful feedback on student learning for instructional practices.
Through discussion with our committee members, there is a need to thoroughly analyze student work in order to guide instruction, revise curriculum, and obtain information on student progress. / Teachers will collaborate to develop authentic assessment tasks and scoring guides based on grade level expectations in all content areas. Timely feedback from assessments will be provided to the students and parents.
Teachers will teach test taking strategies to all grade levels (K-6), and will collaborate to set specific timelines for completing areas of the content while developing common assessments to be given at each grade level.
Teachers will collect and analyze student work monthly to identify student progress toward proficiency and to make adjustments in instruction.
Teachers will collect and analyze formal and informal data on each child in reading and math to identify and improve curriculum gaps.
