Minutes from May meeting.

Last chance…anyone wishing to recognize a leader with an award must download the form from our website and get it to Wheezie by May 30th as our end of the year luncheon is 6/06 and this is when these recognitions will be made.

Don’t wait until the last minute to head down to council to get your badges and pins. They are already out of stars and they must be ordered. See councils website for their store hours. You can also check out the website to see exactly where each badge should be placed on your scouts uniforms.

Ginny was not in attendance but emailed that there are no new scouts but Early Bird registratrion is underway. Everyone should have their packets and should be working on getting them completed and handed in by 6/25.

Lina and Gerry have nothing to report.

Anna Maria reported that we had $2319.91 in the checking account.

Council would like us to know that if your interested in Day Camp you can call Joan Basilotto (ext. 27).

The Leader Appreciation Event at the ProgramActivityCenter looks like a nice night. It takes place on May 22 at 7 PM. There will be massages and manicures etc. Check out councils website for more details.

The Gold Award Dinner (Of which we have no one currently receiving a Gold Award)

Wheezie, Anna Maria and Gerry received Awards at the Adult Recognition Dinner on April 25th @ the Crystal Point Yacht Club. They were cheered on by Anna Maria’s and Gerry’s husband and Margaret. It was a very nice evening.

Field Day takes place on May 18th from 4-6 at DorbrookPark. Hopefully your troop already got their registrations in to Anna Maria. It should be a great day.

Father Daughter Bowling went well. About 65 girls and their dads enjoyed pizza and bowling fun!!

Memorial Day Parade is May 29th. Look for a flier from Jola with the details.

Margaret has been organizing the soda booth sales for the fair. If you wish to captain a time slot let her know.

We need someone to replace Gerry as Consultant!! She is going to Co Service Unit Manager with Margaret and can’t do both. It is an easy job. You collect paperwork from the new leaders and give them their new leader training. Once November is over the job is basically done except for keeping the Service Unit Calendar. Please consider volunteering for this important but easy job.

June 9th is the Self Defense class and food drive to benefit the Sister’s of Charity. A flyer was emailed. If you did not get one please contact Anna Maria at

All Colts Neck Girl Scouts are welcome to learn some self defense taught by Lanza’s Martial Arts and to have a healthy snack. Please remember to forward the flyer and permission slips out to your troops so they have the opportunity to participate.

June 6th will be our Service Unit Recognition Luncheon. It will take place at Gerry’s house @ 5 Ponderosa Drive from 11-1 PM. The cost will be $15.95 and will cover the cost of the catering from Serenella’s Market. Delicious sandwiches, wraps and salads will be served. This will be a working luncheon so bring your ideas for next year. We want to make Colts Neck Service Unit the best and we need your help to do it!!! A flyer is to come. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Gerry @ .
