Role Summary

The training analyst will contribute to the success and development of the Academy by maximising development of players through use of GPS. In striving for excellence within the Academy Sports Science and Medical Department they will aim to provide optimal services to all Academy football players and coaches. In addition they will provide support and assistance to the Academy Sports Science and Medical Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the use of GPS and other methodologies at the Academy.
  • Ensure all data is downloaded following training and reports on the analysis of the training are sent to the necessary staff before the start of the next session or by the end of the day.
  • Highlight abnormal loads, overtraining and inadequate training to the appropriate members of staff.
  • Produce sessional, daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal reports on GPS data and feedback to the Sports Science and Medical department on performance.
  • In conjunction with Academy Sports Science staff contribute to strategies to increase player performance availability and performance capacity.
  • Use GPS data in coordination with injury statistics, training load and heart rate data to offer guidance to coaches on training loads.
  • In addition to training analysis provide sport science support to academy staff when required.

•To attend at least 5 hours of in-service training organised by the FA each year and the first aid training at least once every 3 years if required.
•To undertake Continued Professional Development organised by the Club.
•Managing and controlling resources and the forecasting of short/medium term activity and capacity to ensure that delivery meets agreed service levels, performance standards and profitability.
•Work with other departments and proactively recommend resolutions, which overcome operational challenges and exceed requirements.
•Maintain knowledge on the Academy activities and services to provide best possible support and leadership.
•Advise theHead of Sports Science and Medicine of any circumstances likely to cause delay, failure or loss of delivery on quality, service, income as soon as detected.
•Any other duties as may be reasonably requested

Safeguarding
  • Monitor potential safeguarding children risks and work with the Academy Safeguarding Officer, and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote safer working practice throughout the Academy.
  • Understandthe Academy Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

  • Proven track record in training analysis of elite athletes.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Innovative and problem solving approach.
  • Able to work under pressure within strict time-frames.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential / Desirable
  • Experience in an elite sports environment.
  • An excellent understanding of I.T. and the ability to use computer based programmes to fulfil the role of the job.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sports Science.
  • BASES registered

  • Post graduate qualification inPaediatric Sports Science/Strength and Conditioning.
  • BASES Chartered Scientist/HPSA
  • Recognised S&C qualification (UKSCA/NSCA).
  • FA coaching qualification.
  • Management qualification
