About The Orchard Trust:
We are an Independent Registered Charity, established in 1989. We support the involvement, independence and development of people with learning disabilities. All our services are based in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We provide a wide range of services these include residential care, short break service (respite), domiciliary care, supported living, education, aquatic and rebound therapy and day services. We also have a highly skilled in-house training department which provides full training to all staff.

Driving Record:
Some positions require that the post holder has a full driving licence and allmembers of staff who are requested to drive Trust vehicles will be required annually to submit a copy of their licence to the Administration department. You must ensure you have valid Class 1 insurance for business use and valid MOT, where any journey is made in your own vehicle for work purposes.
Disclosure & Barring Service:
The Orchard Trustwill obtain the disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). The DBS will check the background of all applicants to make sure that they do not have a history that would make them unsuitable for certain posts. Further information can be obtained from callingDBS on 0870 90 90 811 or visiting theinitial cost for Enhanced DBS is £53.70 (as at 1/1/17).This will be reimbursed providing six month’s satisfactory probation has been completed.
As it is Trust policy to have DBS checks every 3 years it will be the member of staff’s responsibility to pay the cost of a renewal thereafter.
