About the Adoption Match

Adoption Match runs the Adoption Register. This is a national matching service working to match those children waiting to find a permanent family home with those approved adopters waiting to be matched with a child(ren).

The Adoption Register is managed by Coram Children’s Legal Centre. The service is funded by the Department for Education.

All children who have been approved for adoption for 3 months with no active links being pursued must be referred to the Adoption Register for England. All adopters who have been approved to adopt for 3 months or more with no active links being pursued and who are in agreement must be referred to the Adoption Register for England. Both children and adopters can be referred to the Adoption Register for England immediately upon being approved to be adopted/adopt.

The Adoption Register has two main elements. Firstly, a nationwide database which both social workers and adopters will have access , enabling them to carry our searches for children or adopters respectively. Secondly, a more intensive search process with dedicated Business Partners working in close partnership with Adoption Agencies/Local Authorities to assist in carrying out more detailed searches and ensuring those children with more complex matching needs are matched.

Adoption Match works in close partnership with First4Adoption.

Purpose of Role:

The post holder will be responsible for the creation, development and maintenance of the Adoption Match website ensuring compliance with data management and security standards. To work with the Adoption Match Manager to develop the Adoption Match service, to act as the lead on ISO27001 audit and ensure compliance with GDPR.To create data reports for the purpose of reporting to the funder and in assisting the Regional Business Partners with their monthly reports.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and energetic individual to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure buy in to the events to aid the matching process.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

•To prepare and analyse regional and national statistical reports to assist in strategic thinking for the National Matching Exchange and to recommend improvements in performance, service standards and operations.

•To run data reports from the Database to compile reports from the under on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

•To ensure data is accurate that is pulled from the database is accurate before compiling regional reports for the Regional Business Partners.

•To quality assure information and resources for the team; ensuring information is up-to-date, accessible, appropriate and clear.

•To act as the lead for Adoption Match in carrying out their ISO27001 audits.

•To create, develop and maintain the Adoption Match website, ensuring content is up-to-date, informative and engaging and in line with project objectives.

•Ensure the Adoption Match website continues to develop in response to the needs of users (e.g. as informed by analytics, audience research) and continues to meet project objectives.

•To manage the relationship with the external web agency to be able to give a clear brief and direction and manage feedback. To ultimately ensure the site is well maintained, to manage any new developments and ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.

•Monitor and report on web traffic through appropriate analytics (eg Google analytics) and ensure the website includes mechanisms for online data capture and analysis, taking into account sensitivity and data protection issues.

•To create and maintain a social media presence for Adoption Match.

•Ensure adherence to accessibility and technical guidelines as required by the project funder.

•To deal with any website or technical queries from adoption agencies or Regional adoption agencies.

• To carry out all other duties that may be required from time to time as directed by the Adoption Match Manager or Head of National Programmes.

•To ensure a consistent message and branding is delivered for the Adoption Match and Adoption Register.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

Relevant degree or equivalent qualification. (Desirable)

Experience/Knowledge

•Excellent writing, editing and proof reading skills, with the ability to write concise and engaging digital copy in a range of styles and for a variety of audiences. (Essential)

•Experience of producing data performance reports using different IT systems (Essential)

•Experience of leading and maintaining the development of a website/major digital project and/or project management (Essential)

•Working experience of Content Management Systems. Experience of using Wordpress an advantage. (Essential)

•Relevant experience and understanding of the principles of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and its significance to digital copywriting (Essential)

•A sound working knowledge of IT systems, web technologies and Google Analytics (Essential)

•Be an experienced user of Sequel Server Manager Studio and must be able to use Transact SQL (Essential).

•Experience and ability to provide advice over the phone or in person. (Essential)

•To ensure a high level of customer service and quality of information. (Essential)

•Experience of leading audit processes and preparing for assessments (Essential)

•A sound knowledge of data management processes and ability to run statistical reports (Essential)

•Experience of ISO27001 and ISO9001 audits (Desirable)

•Understanding of the adoption process, regulations and regionalisation agenda (Desirable)
