A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Eldred C. Fisher.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Eldred C. Fisher.
WHEREAS, Eldred C. Fisher was born on December 13, 1924, a native of Trimble County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on September 19, 1999; and
WHEREAS, Eldred C. Fisher was the loving son of the late Elmo and Nettie Callis Fisher, and he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Fisher, and a brother, Harold Fisher; he was the devoted husband of Letha Lykins Fisher; and he was the loving father of two sons, Gregg Fisher and Jimmy Lykins, both of Bedford, Kentucky; and two daughters, Jean Adams, Bedford, Kentucky, and Judy Tilley, La Grange, Kentucky; and he was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and he was also the caring brother of two brothers, Cecil Fisher and Bernard Fisher, and four sisters, Virginia Lambert, Mary Prather, Norma Dunlap, and Lois Price; and
WHEREAS, Eldred C. Fisher was an esteemed member of the Trimble County community where he was a member of the Bedford Baptist Church, and he was the former owner of Bedford Hardware; he was a member of the Bedford Rotary Club, the Land Improvement Contractors Association, and a former member of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department where he was the recipient of the Carnegie Hero Award for Bravery; he was a construction-bulldozer operator, a farmer, and a friend to farmers in four counties; and
WHEREAS, Eldred C. Fisher served his country with distinction during World War II; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Eldred C. Fisher has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow, and extends to his family its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Eldred C. Fisher.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Letha Lykins Fisher, 821 Starks Lane, Bedford, Kentucky 40006.
