Salary $90,000 to $110,000

Job Summary

Plans, organizes, and oversees the management of the Cuyahoga Heights Local School District financial activities and functions. Recommends and implements accounting control procedures and prepares analyses, reports and information. Manages the day-to-day financial operations and coordinates work with Governing Board. The treasurer reports to the Board of Education. Qualified applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:

*Master’s degree in accounting or related field--CPA desirable

*Treasurer certification required (may be acquired after being hired)

*Prior related treasurer experience, preferably including a supervisory or lead capacity

*Experience in a private sector setting preferred

*Thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of Ohio school accounting and financial management, and the principles and procedures that are used in the maintenance, development, and implementation of financial systems, methods, and procedures (which may be acquired subsequent to being hired)

*Proficiency in the knowledge and use of computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, and ---IT systems (i.e., Bonefish, and AESOP)

*Good organizational and leadership skills

*Knowledge of internal controls and internal audit procedures and ability to work with outside auditors

*Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations effectively

*Interpersonal skills to ensure effective team building including the ability to lead and influence others to improve the culture of the school district

*Ability to develop others and effectively train and supervise office staff

*Ability to analyze financial operations and procedures and ability to provide five years forecast of expenditures and revenues for the board on a yearly bases

*Ability to analyze the cost of collective bargaining position from the point of the bargaining unit and the Board of Education

*Ability to resolve complex problems and give technical advice and assistance

*Ability to interpret and apply governmental policies and regulations and influence legislative proposals

*Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives and officials

*Ability to prepare and maintain financial records in Excel, Access, and Oracle

* Ability to prepare Modified Accrual Basis financial statements including monthly balance sheets
