Week 1: Overview

Lessons 1&2

TASK A: ESTABLISHING PERIODS(10 mins)

•Split class into 2 teams

•Students place the ‘period labels’ in the correct time frame

•Students add the 3 wars

TASK B: ESTABLISHING A CHRONOLOGY(10 mins)

•Each team divides itself into 2 sub teams (making four groups in total)

•Students chunk the pictures into 5 sections

•Students order chronologically within each section

•Peer feedback - sub-teams swap tables (leave post –it notes for feedback)

TASK C: ESTABLISHING A NARRATIVE (30 mins)

•Continue in sub-teams

•Students label each picture

•Students link the pictures (Concept Mapping)

•Peer feedback - sub-teams swap tables (leave post –it notes for feedback)

TASK D: ESTABLISHING A SENSE OF PERIOD(45 mins)

•Each sub-team divides into pairs

•Students place the video clip in the correct period
