1. Call to Order:
Mayor Pringle called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
2. Opening Ceremonies:
Mayor Pringle called for a moment of reflection before proceeding with the Council Meeting.
3. Adoption of Agenda

Be it resolved that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Chatsworth adopt the Agenda as amended, with the addition of confidential Public Works Report 2017-01, Purchase of Land – Sullivan Landfill. Carried
4. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest:
Mayor Pringle reminded Council members to disclose any pecuniary interest that may arise during the course of the meeting.
Councillor Thompson declared an indirect pecuniary interest regarding Closed Meeting item iv Biodigester Update, as she provides accounting services for the engineering firm involved.

THAT Water and Administration Coordinator’s Report WTR 2017-07 dated May 3, 2017 be received and that Council accepts the March 2017 OCWA Monthly Process and Compliance Status Report for the Chatsworth and Walters Falls Water Systems as
presented. Carried
12.2 PW 2017-07 Purchase Pickup Trucks

THAT the Public Works Report 2017-07 dated May 03, 2017 regarding a request for quotation for the purchase of two (2) pick-up trucks be received for information;
AND FURTHER THAT Council award the 2017 request for quotation for two (2) pick-ups to Hal Wright Chevrolet Cadillac GMC Buick in the amount of $60,340 ($30,170 each) plus applicable taxes for two (2) 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD pick-up trucks.

THAT the Public Works Report 2017-08 dated May 03, 2017 regarding a request for quotation for the purchase of a zero turn diesel lawnmower be received for information;
AND FURTHER THAT Council award the 2017 request for quotation for a zero turn lawnmower to Huron Tractor – John Deere in the amount of $20,800.00 plus applicable taxes and that the expense be allocated to Machinery and Equipment Reserve (2514) as per the 2017 budget. Carried

16.17 Township of West Lincoln – School Closure Moratorium & PARG Review

THAT the Township of Chatsworth hereby support the resolution of the Township of West Lincoln regarding a moratorium on school closures. Carried
17. Notices of Motion:
17.1 Councillor Greig-Bill C-203 an Act to Amend the Supreme Court Act
Resolution 2017-12-08

WHEREAS MP Francois Choquette has sought resolutions of support for Bill C-203, an Act to amend the Supreme Court Act;
AND WHEREAS the objective of Bill C-203 is to ensure that citizens enjoy equality regarding access to justice in both official languages;
AND WHEREAS Bill C-203 would require judges appointed to the Supreme Court to understand French and English without the assistance of an interpreter;
AND WHEREAS the judges currently appointed to the Supreme Court have and continue to utilize the assistance of an interpreter;
NOW THEREFORE the Township of Chatsworth does not support Bill C-203 but to continue status quo. Carried

Council resumed in open session. Mayor Pringle confirmed that the only item discussed in closed session is the item listed on the Council agenda.

THAT By-law 2017-33 being a by-law to confirm all actions and proceedings of the May 3, 2017 Council Meeting be hereby read a first, second and third time, signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Corporate Seal. Carried
