When it’s not an emergency, but you need care right away, your Anthem plan may cover these options that can save you a lot of time and a lot of money. Remember that choosing an in-network facility to get care can save you money:
· Urgent care center: Doctors at these centers treat conditions that should be looked at right away, but aren’t as severe as emergencies. Often, they can do X-rays, lab tests and stitches.
· Retail health clinic: This is a clinic staffed by health care experts who give basic services to “walk-in” patients. Most often, it is in a major pharmacy or retail store.
· Walk-in doctor’s office: You don’t have to be an existing patient or have an appointment to use this type of doctor’s office. It handles routine care and common illnesses.
· LiveHealth Online: Network doctors are available to see you 24/7 through a computer, smartphone or mobile device with a webcam. Just sign up at livehealthonline.com or on the free mobile app. Charges will be applied just like a regular doctor visit. Take the quiz.
