General Information and Conditions of Session Proposals:

1. The symposium will be co-sponsored by SCBA and the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (CSBMB). SCBA/CSBMB will waive the Registration Fees for all invited speakers and session chairs. SCBA/CSBMB will offer speakers/session chairs free daily coffee breaks, lunch and dinner. SCBA/CSBMB will not cover the travel and accommodation expenses including airfares and hotel lodging for invited speakers and session chairs.

2. Please consider 5 speakers as an optimal number of speakers in each session. If the co-chair(s) do give a presentation, then the total speaker numbers should be reduced. Time allocation will be 75 minutes/session. Each speaker speaks 12 min. and leaves 3 min. for questions and answers. We want to promote scientific interactions.

3. All invited speakers are encouraged to be present and actively participate for the entire meeting through interaction and discussion with other fellow colleagues, young investigators, students and media personnel.

4. If invited speakers cannot participate, co-chairs are responsible to find a replacement. However, the Scientific Program Committee can also recommend alternate speakers to replace those who cannot come due to unforeseen and unexpected circumstances. Any such absentees should be identified at the earliest possible time to the Organizers and scientific committee Chair and co-Chair.

5. Please indicate in the proposal whether those invited speakers whom you have suggested have or have not accepted your nomination by selecting either “YES” or “NO”. Acceptance of the invitation implies that the invited speakers will assume the financial responsibility of attendance and presentation in the SCBA symposium.

6. The Scientific Program Committee will preferentially evaluate proposals that are more directly related to the theme of the meeting and more preferably on those which have indication and “mutual agreement” of the invited speakers to participate in this meeting if the proposed workshop is accepted. Additionally, the Scientific Program Committee will give higher priority to session proposals that include at least one junior (e.g., Assistant Professor) or/and a woman SCBA member, or speakers from Taiwan and/or mainland China.

7. Each accepted session co-chair and invited speaker must submit an abstract and complete the registration process at the meeting website (http://will be available soon) by specified deadline.

8. There will be fewer sessions organized this time than in the past SCBA conferences, so it is important that the proposals should be submitted as early as possible.

9. There will be opportunity to submit abstracts for poster presentations after the meeting website is open in about 1-2 months.

Please submit your Session Proposal by e-mail attachment to Dr. Xi He (), and Ms. Rebekah Wysocki () before or on October 14, 2016. Acceptance of the above conditions is required for the proposal to be considered.
