Unit Theme: Healthy Living/ Daily Life –GRAMMAR TRANSITION - Youth

Unit Overview: In this unit, student will employ the tools necessary to maintain a healthy body such as exercises, appropriate foods, and regular interaction with the healthcare system.

Essential Questions: How does healthy living mean to you?

Standards: MLII.IP1 The students exchange spoken and written information in the target language, utilizing cultural references where appropriate. MLII.INT1 The students understand spoken and written language on new on familiar topics presented through a variety of media in the target language, including authentic materials. MLII.P1 The students present information orally and in writing using familiar and newly- acquired vocabulary, phrases, and patterns. MLII.IP2 The students demonstrate skills necessary to initiate, sustain, and close oral and written exchanges in the target language. MLIIP1D Give descriptions. Monday / Opening: Greetings. Answer questions: ¿Cómo te sientes? ¿Cómo se sienten?
Learning Experiences:
1.  Introduce vocabulary about- Smoking is dangerous? Power-point presentation. (DOK 2 TB 1)
2.  Writing/ speaking: Create and perform the dialogue- “How do you feel” I feel … (DOK 4 TB 3)
3.  Reading/ speaking/ drawing: Read and discuss the vocabulary. Then, draw the pictures related to the reading selected. (DOK 3 TB 2)
Closing: Students describe the pictures.
Assessment/ Evaluation: Teacher checks participation and provide feedback.
Homework: Practice vocabulary and grammar at the website www.classzone.com-Avancemos 2.

3.  Review present and preterit tense and create sentences. (DOK 4 TB 4)
