SUGGESTED RULE AMENDMENTS FOR 2016
Please write in or speak to your Area Chairman with any comments on the rules below or any other rule changes that you feel should be considered before June 2nd so that these can be discussed before the Rules are approved and adopted at the Council Meeting on June 3rd.
a) RULES 192, 194 AND 195 - NURSERY STAKES
It was agreed that the age of the Nursery Stakes riders should be reduced to 12 years. The height of the fences to remain the same for 2016 but a note sent to Course Builders to be mindful when building RIHS qualifiers that the courses are not all set at maximum height.
b) RULES 186 – CRADLE STAKES
It was agreed to reduce the Cradle Stakes age to 10 years from 11 years so there was a two year gap between Cradle and Nursery Stakes.
c) RULE 46 - HATS
It was agreed to delete the EN1384 hat from our current list of approved hats from 2016.
d) RULE 311, 311A, 311B - HERITAGE PRETTY POLLY (RIHS) RIDDEN MIXED BREEDS CLASS
It was agreed to split the class into Small and Large breeds for the judging of both phases and then bring back both sections for the Final presentation of rosettes and the result will be decided on the highest scores achieved from the combined two classes. Only one pony to qualify from the two breed sections.
e) RULE 96, 97, 123, 135, 174, 175, 177, 193, 246, 247, 267, 429, 430, 441, 436, – RESTRICTED CLASSIFICATION
Animals eligible for Restricted Classes must not have been placed 1st to 8th at the RIHS Or HOYS in the relevant Classes in 2013, 2014, 2015 or the current year (Except Pretty Polly)
f) RULES 333, 346 and 450a - HERITAGE RESTRICTED CLASSIFICATION
Animals eligible for Restricted Classes must not have been placed 1st to 8th at the RIHS, HOYS or Olympia in relevant Classes in 2013, 2014, 2015 or the current year (Except Pretty Polly & Young Riders)
g) RULE 501 - GUIDE LINES AND ADVICE TO JUDGES
Amend rule to read “Tiny Tots First Ridden” and “Heritage Tiny Tots First Ridden” for clarity.
h) RULE 462 – WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS
NEW CLASSIFICATION FOR WINTER NOVICE SHOWS
NOVICE PONY, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type 4 years old or over not exceeding 138 cm, riders not to attained their 15th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
NOVICE PONY, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type, 4 years old or over exceeding 138 cm and not exceeding 153 cm, riders not to attained their 20th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
NOVICE INTERMEDIATE PONY, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type 4 years old or over, exceeding 146 cm but not exceeding 158cms, riders not to attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
RESTRICTED PONY, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type 4 years old or over not exceeding 138 cm, riders not to attained their 15th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
RESTRICTED PONY, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type 4 years old or over exceeding 138 cm, riders not to attained their 20th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
RESTRICTED INTERMEDIATE PONY, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type 4 years old or over, exceeding 146 cm but not exceeding 158cms, riders not to attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
NOVICE FIRST RIDDEN, Mare or Gelding of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122 cms Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
RIDDEN PART BRED PONY CLASS, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over not exceeding 148 cms. Riders any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
